00:00Police have launched an investigation after a soccer player was allegedly assaulted by
00:05multiple spectators during a match at Mill Park earlier this month. The 33-year-old St. Kilda man
00:11was leaving the field after being sent off during a minor scuffle around 2.30pm on 6 July
00:17when several people allegedly attacked him.
00:20He sustained serious injuries, including a fractured spine. Detectives released vision
00:30of the alleged assault in hopes of identifying the individuals involved. The incident occurred
00:36at a reserve on Crampton Crescent and is believed to have been witnessed by others at the match.
00:41Police are urging anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
