00:00The original film, 28 days later, was filmed on technology that was ubiquitous at the time.
00:06The technology now has moved on so much that the smartphones that we carry around are capable
00:11of shooting at 4K up to 60 frames a second.
00:16But it's perfect for a cinema release, it's of the highest standard.
00:19And we wanted to use them because they're very light, there are lots of other cameras
00:24of a similar size now, and they give you the ability to work in remote places very quickly.
00:29And very lightly, leaving a light footprint.
00:32And we wanted our landscape to look like it hadn't been touched for 28 years by any human.
00:38So it was very advantageous for that.
00:40It also allowed us to create these very cool rigs, which used up to like 20 iPhones at one point.
00:47They're light enough that you can carry a rig that size, take it on location with you,
00:51and film some of the horror, some of the brutality, some of the violence that exists in the film.
