01:03The day when I heard Kingdom the script
01:06from my director Gautam Tinnoori.
01:09He's the director of Jersey.
01:11I heard Jersey was also loved a lot in Tamil Nadu.
01:15So when Gautam Tinnoori narrated the script to me,
01:18that day itself we decided that for sure this film
01:22we have to release in two languages.
01:24We knew that this is a film that we wanted to make for Telugu
01:28and we wanted to make for Tamil.
01:30So from the first day of starting shoot of this film,
01:36because it's a film originally it was set in on the coast of Andhra Pradesh
01:44and in Chennai.
01:46But then it became about Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and the coast of Sri Lanka
01:52because it was dealing with these areas and people from here
01:57and we have very similar kind of cultures, people, characters, arcs.
02:05The film is like a classic action drama.
02:09You would have seen old Rajneeser films and stuff.
02:13It has similar arcs, nice drama, some action.
02:17So we knew that we wanted to do it in Telugu and Tamil
02:21and we have been promoting in Hyderabad
02:26and this is the only other place that I am coming to promote
02:29because your love is very important to me.
02:33You guys have been giving me love
02:36from before I even thought that I could release my films in other states.
02:44So it's really important for me to bring this film to you all
02:48and I hope all of you enjoy this film on July 31st in two days.
02:53And because I am in Chennai, I need to thank two other people specially,
02:59first being Suryana.
03:01When we released the first teaser of Kingdom,
03:05my director really wanted Suryana to dub for the teaser.
03:10In Telugu, Tarakanna was doing it and Hindi, Ranbir was doing it
03:13and he was like in Tamil I want Suryana's voice
03:16because he has a really powerful voice.
03:19I didn't want to call, I don't like asking favours.
03:26So unwillingly I called and I was like Suryana,
03:29I am going to ask you for something, please tell no.
03:32And then he was like no no no, tell me Vijay.
03:35And I was like so I am doing this film and we really want to release in Tamil
03:39and for the teaser I need a voice over, my director wants you.
03:44But please tell no.
03:45He was like no of course I am doing it, of course send me the teaser.
03:49And Suryana did, the first teaser that you saw was in Suryana's voice.
03:54So firstly Suryana thank you so much for doing that for me and for Kingdom, it meant a lot.
04:02And second to the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu's favourite Anirut.
04:09Ani has just poured life into our film.
04:13Yesterday he was in Hyderabad performing at Kingdom's pre-release in Hyderabad.
04:19Today he is back making sure the final copies, the mixes, the sound is all perfect
04:25before it goes to the US and to theatres here.
04:30And I love Ani, the last time I met you all during Kushi maybe, I don't remember.

04:56In the last couple of months I have spent some time with him.
05:00I came down to Chennai, chilled with him and his boys in the studio.
05:04We went out, played some pickleball, went out, ate, listened to some music.
05:09He came to Hyderabad, performed and we spent some time.
05:13Now I want to kidnap him even more.
05:16I want to for sure kidnap him and keep him with me always.
05:21Ani, I love you and thank you for everything you have done.
05:26Every word Ani says carries so much weight.
05:29He'll tell in some interview, I saw 40 minutes of Kingdom, it's superb.
05:34Suddenly it's everywhere, people start, people take what Ani say more seriously than what I say.
05:40As soon as Ani say, yesterday Ani was like, it'll be a milestone film in Vijay's career and in his career and in the director's career and all of her careers.
05:52And immediately people are like, my friends are telling me Ani gave his stamp.
05:57Okay, so film is… film is sure shot.
06:00So that much weight, Ani's words carry.
06:03Ani, I hope this 31st, we all… I'm sure it's a good film and I'm sure all of you, especially in Tamil Nadu, I think you all are going to really like this film.

06:31Though it's a Telugu film, we are doing it in bilingual, so Tamil Nadu is a direct release.

06:51We shot a lot in Sri Lanka.
06:53We shot for 40… 45 days in Sri Lanka.

07:06Girish Gangadharan was our DOP for 40% of the film and then Girish…
07:13The film was taking longer than expected.
07:16So, we shot for over 140 days and Girish had to leave and go to Kuli.
07:21And so, Jomonti John from Kerala came and Jomonti John did a beautiful job.
07:27Both the cinematographers did an excellent job.
07:30So, I think… I think you guys will enjoy the drama and the action of the film more than anything.

07:42Another question is the looks.
07:44You've always been given like little tougher looks.
07:46Though you are a very sweet, nice person in reality, very rugged characters suit you better.
07:51Is there any special efforts that you put into fit and such characters?
07:55I put the same effort into everything.
07:58I think it's just a preference.

08:01I meet some people who love me in like these serious action kind of roles.
08:07I meet so many people who love me in the love stories and softer roles.
08:12My job is to try and do the best in whatever film that I pick.
08:18And the looks, my directors choose it.
