While talking to reporters on Friday, Pres. Donald Trump spoke about the power of the dollar.

00:17But you don't do any tourism.

00:20You can't sell trucks.

00:22You can't sell anything.

00:23It is good for inflation.

00:25That's about it.

00:26And we have no inflation.

00:28We've wiped out inflation.

00:29But it's an interesting question.

00:31So, I will never say I like a low currency,

00:34but you remember the battles I had with the yuan,

00:37with China and with Japan, Japan being the yen.

00:41They always wanted a weak currency.

00:43They're trying to get a weak currency now.

00:45Now, it doesn't sound good, but you make a hell of a lot

00:49more money with a weaker dollar.

00:51Not a weak dollar, but a weaker dollar than you do

00:53with a strong dollar.

00:54And the first thing people that are going to notice it

00:57are the manufacturers of trucks and various other things.

01:00Like, look at Caterpillar, how well they're doing now.

01:03When you have a strong dollar, you can't sell anything.

01:05It's only good for inflation.

01:07And it's good psychologically.

01:08It makes you feel good.

01:10But with that being said, I love strong dollars.

01:13But you make your money with a currency.

01:16And I had so many different fights with President Xi,

01:20with, I mean, between Japan and China.

01:23All they want to do is have a weak currency.

01:25They're always fighting for a weak currency.

01:27And that's how they really dominated over the years.

01:30So, when I see it down there, I don't lose sleep over it.

01:33Let's put it that way.

01:34In fact, sometimes they go to sleep very happy.

02:13All they do is fight for a weak currency.

02:16Look at Japan, when they were really doing well.

02:18They had a very weak currency.

02:20So, to me, I just say thank you very much.
