00:05tensions at a competition in Tokyo. And now the first place choir in the folklore music category,
00:12Nibun Chorus. Nibun Chorus, a Bunun indigenous singing group from Kaohsiung,
00:17was one of three choirs from Taiwan competing in the folk music category.
00:21A total of eight choirs from Taiwan registered in the international competition under the name
00:25Taiwan. However, on the second day of the competition, their national origin was abruptly
00:40changed to Chinese Taipei due to complaints from China. Later, the flags of all of the participating
00:44countries that lined the stage were also removed. Lawmakers from both of Taiwan's main political
00:50parties condemned the pressure from China.
01:20Taiwan. This is just the latest incident of China forcing Taiwanese teams to participate
01:29as Chinese Taipei in international competitions. And even in an event where the focus should be the
