00:26The cars are coming out onto the track.

00:29So two laps behind the safety car.

00:33And this is saying that one of 44,

00:37we're on lap one of 44.

00:40So this is the first lap of the race, as it were now.

00:44Oscar, how is the visibility?

00:46Quite a little better than before.

00:49Through Rouge, after Rouge, it's still quite bad.

00:55Yeah, the straight's still quite, still pretty bad.

00:57The right side of the grid's still a lot wetter than the left.

01:01Yeah, and it's not side to side equal.

01:06That's an important message there,

01:07as Lando Norris goes through that right-hand side of the grid,

01:10because that's where pole is.

01:11So if he's thinking it's a lot wetter,

01:14he doesn't want a standing start,

01:16because he's at a massive disadvantage.

01:17We're going to get a rolling start.

01:20It also happened in the Miami sprint, didn't it, this season.

01:23But a rolling start.

01:24So the safety car will peel away,

01:28and Lando Norris will lead them over the line.

01:31No overtaking before they get to the line.

01:33And I suppose that's the compromise, isn't it, from race control?

01:38So lurking with Max Verstappen ahead of him, Charles Leclerc,

01:42ahead of him, Oscar Piastri, and ahead of him,

01:44Lando Norris has got going.

01:47It's not lights out, it's wheels roll, and away we go.

01:50But we're not actually racing until we get to the line.

01:54And after some frustrating delays for the rain

01:57and some laps behind the safety car,

02:00here we go for the Belgian Grand Prix, ladies and gentlemen,

02:03with Lando Norris leading them down towards Le Source.

02:05You can just see his teammate, Oscar Piastri, on the inside.

02:09Charles Leclerc ahead of Verstappen,

02:11ahead of Alex Albon and George Russell,

02:13and Yuki Tsunoda as they make their way round Le Source.

02:15Where Piastri was vulnerable to Max Verstappen in the sprint yesterday,

02:18Lando Norris is vulnerable to Oscar Piastri,

02:21who has swept past him before they get to Lecombe's chicane.

02:25And the championship leader, as they go into that chicane,

02:28leads the Belgian Grand Prix from his teammate, Lando Norris.

02:32Ah, is there a problem with the electrical energy for Lando Norris?

02:36That's battery that would explain why Piastri is moving ahead quite so fast.

02:43It's coming back on, we used a lot in the safety car restart,

02:46says someone from the pit wall to Lando Norris.

02:49And the battle for fifth, you can't see it, it's behind the spray at the moment.

02:53Here comes George Russell, though, and he'll have the inside line going into the chicane.

02:57George Russell manages to get past Alex Albon, pops his Mercedes up into fifth place.

03:03Yeah, because Lewis Hamilton's gaining on Carlos Sainz here through the spray,

03:06pulls to the inside of the bus stop chicane.

03:08Sainz will try and fight it, but he can't.

03:10Hamilton is through and going off the track is Kimi Antonelli.

03:14Didn't get his braking right there, doesn't gain any advantage slots back in.

03:18Behind Carlos Sainz, Hamilton is up into sixth.

03:20Lewis Hamilton on a charge still.

03:23Nico Hülkenberg's the next car.

03:25Hamilton's making moves here on this Sunday at Spa,

03:28and he's gained another place up to 14th.

03:31Yeah, Lewis put into practice all of his British wet weather skills

03:34from his go-kart days here at the wet spa today.

03:37Maybe someone in the midfield thinks, well, I'll try an undercut here.

03:40Go on to the slicks, and we'll leave a little hole then for others to pit into.

03:45Verstappen under braking towards the source.

03:47No way past on this particular occasion.

03:49He's gone wide, though.

03:50Oh, he has.

03:51Went very wide.

03:53It looked like he had that covered, but, oh, just about under traction.

03:57It stays ahead of Max Verstappen.

03:59I don't know if it's a dark hole, but my God, my toes are gone.

04:05And they're so slow, you'd get a pit stop.

04:07Even if you put a set of inters on it, you'd get your pit stop back in three laps.

04:10Pit lane, and then Russell came in very closely after that,

04:13but they gathered themselves up very, very well.

04:16I think that might get looked at as well,

04:18because there's no doubt that Alex Albon and the Williams

04:21did have to apply the brakes a bit

04:23to make sure that Charles Leclerc didn't come into him.

04:26I'm not saying it's going to be investigated by the stewards.

04:28Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't get noted, though.

04:30Hamilton on the slicks from the previous lap.

04:33We cut to that replay in the pit lane, just as Hamilton,

04:37whoa, that was close, was about to get past Liam Lawson.

04:40Right, so this is Lando's pit stop.

04:42Does he hit his marks?

04:43It's not easy.

04:44He goes a little bit long on his marks, I think, there.

04:46And that didn't help those on the front left

04:49trying to put the hard compound tyre on.

04:51But it is not easy, Martin, to stop dead on the marks in these conditions.

05:01But there was absolutely zero tread left on the intermediate that came in.

05:06The clipping on the main side is shocking.

05:41Moves up into 14th now behind Oli Behrman in the hat.

05:46We can see the replay once more of Antonelli.

05:49Even though Fernando Alonso had DRS,

05:52Antonelli still had way, way, way more pace

05:55going into Le Com and a bit later on the break as well.

05:59That was very nicely done.

06:00This was the moment two laps ago at Puan.

06:05Not big, not dramatic, but it cost him half a second.

06:071.2 it cost him.

06:09He did a 47.6, and he'd been doing 46.4s before that.

06:13So it took a little wobble on the way in.

06:16He had to counter-steer and correct the slide.

06:19And that...

06:20Without that, he would now be 6.7, you know,

06:25into the sixes behind Piastri.

06:27Deg looks as expected.

06:28We still think the best thing is to go to the end on this time.

06:32We're not getting the results.

06:34Yeah, certainly cost him his first podium.

06:36Yeah.

06:36And who knows what his confidence might have been after that.

06:38Don't want to do that very often, Lando Norris.

06:40He's lost half a second in the first sector

06:42and another two-tenths in the second sector on this lap.

06:46And if that 1.2 seconds when he went wide

06:48isn't going to be the deciding factor,

06:51that seven-tenths might just compound it

06:56and be the deciding factor.

06:57Here comes Nico Hülkenberg on Esteban Ocon

07:01going wheel-to-wheel up the Kemble Strait.

07:02Hülkenberg looks over to see that he has cleared the Haas

07:05and moves up into 14.

07:06Kimi Antonelli behind Esteban Ocon.

07:10I dare say for not a huge amount longer.

07:13Picking up a slipstream.

07:14Ocon forces him round the outside.

07:16But Antonelli had that covered, almost expected it.

07:19Ocon's going to fight this back and retake the place

07:22by the time they exit the chicane.

07:23Nice from both drivers on both counts there.

07:27But it's Ocon who wins it.

07:28Seven seconds between Piastri and Norris.

07:30This is Charles Leclerc locking up on his tyres

07:35that he's been running for 25 laps.

07:37His medium tyres and losing quite a bit of time

07:41as a result of that lock-up.

07:43I stopped in 1.2.
