00:00Hello and welcome, I'm David Icke, and today I'm going to be chatting about
00:15of the true self-identity, which is infinite I, infinite consciousness, having an experience,
00:24and getting pulled into the I am our orthodoxies of self-identity.
00:30Has created catastrophic consequences.
00:36This is a few of the figures in terms of the consequences of social media in a documentary,
00:48you can see it on the internet, I do recommend it, called Plugged In.
00:52And these are figures relating to how young people have been affected psychologically by social media.
01:05Teenage suicide, a 50% increase in female suicides under since 2009.
01:18Hospital admissions for teenagers with eating disorders have almost doubled in three years.
01:25The fact that this has happened in the social media smartphone era is not a coincidence, it's a cause and effect.
01:38And the pressure, being hurt, being pressured into being something else that you're not,
01:54is the power that we have not to be affected by what people say about us.
02:04Because I'll tell you from experience, as someone who's been subject to constant abuse for 30 years,
02:10they'll think something else tomorrow.
02:11You know, I couldn't walk down any street in Britain.
02:18It was before social media, but this is my version of social media.
02:23I couldn't walk down any street in Britain in the early 1990s,
02:27the early years of the 1990s, without being laughed at by most of the people.
02:31If I went into a bar, hot, raw.
02:36I've spoken at students' union events, and they only invited me along to laugh and ridicule me.
02:46I have things posted on social media.
02:48I don't post them myself.
02:49My son does.
02:51But I post them on the basis of whether I think the information is valid
02:58and whether I think people would find them interesting
03:01and whether I think that people need to see this information.
03:06Nothing is ever posted on the basis of what do people want to hear
03:12and what do I post to get the least abuse back.
03:18I don't care.
03:20I don't care what abuse I get back.
03:22It's of no interest to me.
03:24It's an irrelevant concept.
03:26Because to edit yourself and to reform yourself on the basis of what will get me least abuse
03:39or most likes is to contemplate not expressing your uniqueness
03:46and what you believe to be right.
03:49And this is a fact to try to tell us that, let the demons run amok,
03:53but it doesn't matter because it's just a ride.
03:56And we can change it any time we want.
04:00No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money.
04:04Just a choice right now between fear and love.
04:11And that's all it is.
04:14I hope you've enjoyed this series.
04:19I hope you've got something out of it.
04:20It's the whole point, really.
04:23And if you remember only one thing,
04:26I would suggest it's to remember that.
04:30What kind of world do we want to live in?
04:34It's just a choice right now between fear and love.
04:45That's all it is, has been, and ever will be.
04:56See you soon.
04:57See you soon.
