00:00A woman was injured after her car plunged into a sinkhole that opened up on Tanjung Katang Road in Singapore on Saturday.
00:09In a Facebook post, National Water Agency PUB said the sinkhole formed around 5 p.m. at the junction of Tanjung Katang Road and Mountbatten Road, near a PUB work site.
00:20The woman, who was driving the car, was rescued by Singapore Civil Defense Force personnel and was conscious when taken to Raffles Hospital.
00:30Both directions of the affected road have been closed, and motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
00:39Member of Parliament for Marine Parade Bradel Heights, GRC Gopay Ming said in a Facebook update that the Land Transport Authority, LTA, and PUB are investigating the incident.
00:52He added that bus services 36 and 48 have been diverted and urged the public to steer clear of the area until further notice for safety reasons.
