00:00Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're looking over the films and TV series under the Marvel
00:09banner who either deserve a second watch or have gained newfound appreciation in recent
00:14years.
00:15While your mileage may vary between each, it's never a bad thing to look back and find
00:19something positive in a piece of entertainment.
00:2110 – Daredevil
00:35Yes, both the Netflix series and Born Again are undoubtedly superior depictions of the
00:40man without fear.
00:41Yes, that fight scene in the park wallows a little too deeply into cringe territory.
00:51Regardless, Ben Affleck's outing as the guardian of Hell's Kitchen still had some charm to
00:56it, especially if you're someone who enjoys your superhero flicks with equal part darkness
01:00and cheesiness.
01:0111 – They call you the man without fear.
01:0412 – That's true, why are you afraid to show your face?
01:1012 – I don't believe it, no, no, the blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen.
01:20Also, can we appreciate how much fun the likes of Colin Farrow and the late great Michael
01:26Clark Duncan are having as Bullseye and Kingpin respectively?
01:2912 – He made me miss.
01:3012 – There's an old saying that too much pride can kill a man.
01:4212 – The devil is mine.
01:4813 – Number 9 – What If?
02:00Animated anthologies are an art form all their own, some succeeding, some failing.
02:05And while its final outing may have somewhat missed the mark, we dare say that the first
02:09season of What If?
02:10was one of the MCU's boldest and most imaginative projects to date.
02:13Think about it.
02:14It gave us reinterpretations of established and beloved MCU characters who went on to become
02:18powerhouses in their own right, such as Captain Carter, Strange Supreme, and Infinity Ultron.
02:24Not only were the stories entertaining, but it showcased that the MCU wasn't afraid to
02:39get a little weird.
02:4013 – What is weird, especially in the cinematic universe, can often lead to wondrous results.
02:5513 – Number 8 – Marvel Anime – X-Men – Does it even come close to the likes of the original
03:08animated series or X-Men 97?
03:11Not on your life.
03:12But out of all the Marvel properties that got themselves the anime treatment, the X-Men certainly
03:17came out the best.
03:18The violence, the self-contained story, Madhouse's gorgeous animation, it all adds up to quite
03:24a fun time, even if it doesn't quite reach the heights of other depictions of our favorite
03:28superhero team of mutants.
03:33At the very least, the S-tier glow-up they gave Storm certainly warrants a casual view of
03:38it.
03:39I got this.
03:40Okay.
03:41Number 7 – Avengers Age of Ultron – Is that why you've come, to end the Avengers?
04:00I've come to save the world, but also, yeah.
04:06With the red-headed stepchild of the Avengers films, Age of Ultron is simultaneously one
04:10of the most vital yet mindering team-ups of the world's mightiest heroes, introducing
04:15the likes of Vision, the Scarlet Witch, the Sokovia Incidents, and a million other different
04:19plot threads that will come into play later down the line.
04:21While there is a fair amount of busy work, some messy pacing, and subplots that prevent it from
04:34reaching the heights of other big MCU event movies, it does have some killer scenes that
04:38have made us look on it more favorably in recent times.
04:40Hulk vs. the Hulkbuster, the opening siege on Hydra's base, and lest we forget, one of
04:45the MCU's greatest casting of all time in James Spader as Ultron.
04:50We could listen to this android monologue for hours on end.
04:536.
04:54Spider-Man 3
05:16Back in the day, this was the title reviled for putting an end to the original Spider-Man
05:20film.
05:21And yes, there are a bunch of silly moments such as Emo Parker, the infamous dance scene,
05:25and his portrayal of Venom.
05:34That being said, on reflection, there's still a lot of that Sam Raimi goodness to be found
05:38here that made the first two films so amazing.
05:41Sandman's tragic downfall into villainy, the turbulence of Peter and MJ's relationship,
05:46rejecting the symbiote suit, it may not swing as high as its predecessors, but it's certainly
05:50got more heart to it than some other Sony Spider-movies.
05:57The only thing left to me now is my daughter.
06:10I forgive you.
06:125.
06:13Ms. Marvel
06:14The stakes may be lower and the villains may be sadly forgettable, but what Ms. Marvel
06:31has going for her is an absurd amount of infectious goodwill.
06:43As a fangirl turned hero in her own right, Aman Villani's take on Kamala Khan will warm
06:48your soul as she uses her newfound powers in an attempt to emulate her childhood heroes.
06:52Pair that with the show's tasteful take on the complexities of family, tradition, and
07:03Jersey City's melting pot culture, and this show punched well above its weight.
07:07Look at it this way.
07:08Even after the failure of the Marvels, everyone is still eager for Kamala to make a big return
07:12to the MCU, so she must be doing something right.
07:254.
07:26Agent Carter
07:29She may not have any powers to her name, but Peggy Carter is one of the MCU's most stalwart
07:34and badass characters, which is why we feel her two-season solo series deserve way more
07:39attention than it initially got.
07:44While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. flourished with a handful of seasons, Peggy's outing was tragically
07:51cut short.
07:52That doesn't mean it isn't worth your time, though.
07:54Tackling espionage, gunfights, and the vast prejudices of 1940s America, Peggy demonstrated
07:59that she was much more than Captain America's best girl.
08:02She was a leading lady in her own right, whose legacy has thankfully endured throughout
08:06the years.
08:07As your supervisor...
08:08You're not my supervisor.
08:09As a supervisor, I feel obligated to tell you your actions were ill-advised and reckless.
08:14Ill-a-reckless?
08:15You're damn right.
08:173.
08:18Luke Cage
08:19Daredevil was the jewel in the Netflix Marvel crown.
08:33Jessica Jones blew everyone away with its tormented lead, heinous villain, and hard-hitting subject
08:38matters.
08:39Iron Fist?
08:40You don't talk about Iron Fist.
08:41So, where does that lead Harlem's hero for hire?
08:44Really, guys?
08:45Hey, you gotta know we tried, man.
08:48I can see it inside your face.
08:52Underrated, but certainly not underfoot.
08:54That's for sure.
08:55Michael Coulter brings immense gravitas as the unbreakable protector, determined to save
09:00his town from any and all criminal corruption.
09:03Again, smaller in scale, but his themes and interpretation of the character were spot on.
09:08Sweet Christmas, Indy.
09:09I've got you.
09:252.
09:26Thor
09:27This God of Thunder has had some of the MCU's greatest moments across the franchise, despite
09:30having a filmography that's certainly been all over the place.
09:33This drink, I like it.
09:35I know, it's great, right?
09:36Another!
09:37Sitting comfortably between the highs of Ragnarok and the lows of Love and Thunder is the original
09:42Thor, which as far as Marvel origin movies go, is actually pretty solid.
09:46You'd stand giving speeches while Asgard falls.
09:49You are a vain, greedy, cruel boy!
09:52And you are an old man and a fool!
09:55There's a Shakespearean quality to it, especially when it comes to the fractured dynamics between
10:00the family of Norse gods.
10:01We'd go as far as to say Thor's exile from Asgard is one of the MCU's best moments.
10:06You are unworthy of each realm.
10:09You're unworthy of your title!
10:11You're unworthy of the loved ones you have betrayed.
10:21For setting down a solid foundation and all the good that came after, we feel this flick
10:26deserves its flowers.

10:41Number 1.
10:42Moon Knight
10:44Among the pantheon of TV series to emerge from the main canon of the MCU, fans and critics
11:00will often flock to WandaVision and Loki.
11:02And rightfully so.
11:03They're awesome.
11:04It's just that some of us also feel that a certain fist of vengeance also deserves to
11:08stand alongside them.
11:09Not only was Moon Knight a globetrotting adventure featuring Egyptian gods and some truly epic
11:27fight scenes, it also didn't hesitate to go deep into discussions of mental health, isolation
11:32and past traumas.
11:33Oscar Isaac delivered a masterclass performance as both Mark Spector and Steven Grant.
11:37Two personalities sharing one body, both bound to serve as the avatar to the god of
11:41the night sky.
11:42Disney, you'd better get your butt in gear because we need a new season pronto.
11:47What does it matter?
11:48What, you want to remember the truth?
11:50That you had a mother that beat you?
11:52That hated you?
11:53That made your life a living hell?
11:56You're lying, you're just trying to upset me.
11:58But you've gotten to live thinking that she loved you.
12:01That she was kind.
12:03That she's still alive.
12:05Which Marvel movie or series do you think deserves a rewatch?
