That time an 11-year-old metal guitarist from Canberra met Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness

00:00What do you remember of him?

00:02Well, the first thing I remember is, even back on Australia's Got Talent, you know,

00:07Kelly, behind the scenes, she came up to me and she was like,

00:12she came up and she said, I'm going to make sure that you meet my father

00:15because I need him to know about this, right?

00:18Because I'd played Crazy Train on the show and, you know,

00:22at the time I didn't know there was any connection to Kelly Osborne

00:26or to Ossie Osborne on that show, right?

00:27It was a complete sort of surprise by the producers, you know?

00:30And she came up and she said, what you've done is, you know,

00:33I really want to make sure this happens.

00:35And it was like, you know, on TV, it's like you hear a lot of things like that

00:41and it's like, I guess I do, I believed it, right?

00:44Because, you know, I'm a little kid and it's like, of course this isn't really going to happen,

00:47but it's like, it really, she really did manage it.

00:50She really did, you know, come through with this.

00:53And so the first thing I remember coming to the show is like,

00:56it is, before the concert that Black Sabbath played,

01:02there was, we got to meet and sort of,

01:05it was sort of, there was a meet and greet with the band that I was invited to.

01:08And I remember the thing I was told, the thing they told our whole group was,

01:13you could do what, you know, you could say, you could talk to them,

01:15you could ask any questions, but you cannot touch this, you know,

01:18look, but don't touch, right?

01:19But if you, you know, the thing, it's like, if Tony Iommi reaches out to scratch,

01:25you know, his elbow like this, you don't shake his hand, right?

01:27You don't touch them, right?

01:28And so I, I walked in, I walked in to the room,

01:35everyone was asking their questions, right?

01:36You know, in line and I got there and I was the Osborne,

01:39he comes out and he goes, I know who you are.

01:44My daughter told me all about you.

01:46And then he comes over and he hugs me.

01:48And after all this about, you know, you, you, you can look for don't touch.

01:52He comes out, he gives me this big hug.

01:54And it's like, the whole experience was like that.

01:57They went so far out of their way for everything.

02:00And they didn't, you know, they didn't have to do this for me.

02:04And there was like, I, like Ozzy Osborne, the side of him that you see,

02:09you know, on TV, you know, he's like, he was so nice to me.

02:13And he was so clear about everything.

02:16Like he really, really cared.

02:18This wasn't just, um, this, this wasn't just something he'd been told to do

02:24for a, for a PR stunt.

02:25This wasn't just something that he was doing for a, for a favor for his daughter.

02:29He really was, he really cared about it.

02:33He really was interested in my story and making sure that he, you know,

02:38I guess, um, you know, gave me that advice and, uh, you know,

02:44tried to make sure I understood what, what it was, what that connection was.

02:50And when you, you know, cause back then when we were talking, you said,

02:52you said.
