00:00if you are new to our channel I'm a speech language therapy assistant and I

00:15work with preschool children and I love my games so I started this channel so

00:23that I could share all my really cool games and some of my ideas for sessions

00:28this little gem is from the ice age dawn of the dinosaurs movie there is a game

00:37like this called cold turkey and they just revamped cold turkey into this game

00:43that's got scratch which is this is some kind of a squirrel that's after the

00:48acorn in the beginning of these movies so we'll unpack it so you can see what this

00:57game is all about it's two to four players ages four and up it says quickly

01:02catch the cubes thrown out by Scrat I think I see a dinosaur tail here here's the

01:10back of the box rediscover Scrat the unforgettable little hero from ice age

01:15dawn of the dinosaurs in this totally cool action game he is on the ice flow

01:20protecting his precious nut but it's cool he shivers and throws all the ice cubes

01:25off the ice flow as he goes by careful Scrat is pretty unpredictable you never

01:30know what color cube he's going to throw be quick the first player to gather all

01:35six of their color cubes wins the game you've probably guessed by now that I

01:39like this game for working on the sound for cube or us final for ice

01:47included is supposed to be one electronic Scrat 24 colored cubes one ice flow tray

01:54and one set of game rules says you need a double a you need three double a batteries

02:01I did buy this one thrifting for $2.99 so I'm actually not sure if it's all in

02:06there I basically just bought it and threw it in my storage room and I haven't

02:10looked at it since so since I haven't been thrifting lately I'm going to crack it

02:15open now and see what we got hope they're scrapped it's funny it's quite heavy there

02:26he is with his nut the good news is he catches and holds his nut for this whole

02:30game the battery compartments in there there we go there are his feet which is

02:40basically the battery cover see if these batteries are any good okay so there's

02:48a little flaw already this battery cover is just broken off it hasn't been screwed

02:54off so we'll see if he works I think this switches his ear he works fine

03:06great even got the batteries with it oh my there's two in here there's two

03:19scraps I wonder if I did that or someone else did that and we have our ice flow right there

03:26so I bet you that means we have many many cubes no cubes at all I don't think we got 24 cubes sometimes

03:45what happens is I will see one of these at a thrift store and it'll just be individually priced and

03:51that could be why I have two not sure that's pretty funny so let's count our cubes

03:59so we're missing one green and one red cube let's do that maybe I can borrow them from my other game

04:20the other game the other game the other game the cold turkey game came with little

04:29cute little ice cube trays to kind of collect and put your little cubes in so

04:33this one's been I guess reduced to fewer pieces for this game so this is one of

04:43those fast-paced kind of games the more crazy and fast-paced the game is the less

04:48they're focused on their targets and working on their goals so what I like to do is get

04:54them to earn the ice cube so I start with the ice cubes in a bag and then when they do their targets

05:00then they get an ice cube and then we turn it on at the end to see what happens the kids that can't

05:08wait that many turns I'll often either give them more than one cube and that's some differential

05:13reinforcement if they're doing a good job on their goals then I'll give them more than one if they do

05:17excellent target or if they don't get their target then I give them only one so they learn pretty fast

05:24if I do it right then I get more than one and all kids want more than more than one and they want the

05:33game to start as soon as possible put them on here so he's gonna be pretty noisy let's see if I have

05:41something that can dampen it down a bit sometimes putting something underneath can help with the

05:47noise level and that goes for like little tables in your treatment rooms and things like that they

05:55can be noisy so have something underneath and that helps a little bit so the idea is that we push a

06:02and then they kind of fall off so let's mix up these colors a bit more if you want to use this video

06:07for telepractice now is the place where you want to start the video with your client and share a screen

06:12it's time to pick a color so if you want to be red if you want to be green if you want to be yellow or

06:19if you want to be blue so you can choose a color right now and then we'll start the game

06:24so we'll start it and then we'll stop it and then we'll see what colors get knocked off ready set

06:36there he did one full circle so let's count what colors we got off so green is winning with two off

06:50yellow has one that fell off and blue I'll put it over here blue has one that fell off so green is

06:59winning so far let's try again so now is a good time to do your target and then we'll start them up

07:05again so yellow got another one and blue got two that time got two off off is another good word working

07:28F final it's time to do another target oh we got another green one off we've got some red ones finally

07:51so if you picked if you picked red you've got three ice cubes off and yellow has three and blue has three

08:06oh wait one more for blue blue has four

08:10so it's going to be a close game it's time to do another target

08:17they're coming off slower now so you got another yellow one it's time to do another target

08:33and another yellow one wow yellow has one more

08:46red has a couple so I think everybody's still in the game

08:54it's time to do another target

09:00stop there's blue blue has won this game they're all the blue ones are off

09:12see six blue cubes they're hollow underneath too so if you wanted to hide anything you could

09:22so now we'll play to see who gets second place time to do another target

09:31that would be green

09:42green fell off and so did yellow so yellow and green are tied for second place

09:53and I'm sorry to say if you picked red you are last that's okay

09:59there's the last two red ones

10:04so that's it for this little game this game was made in 2009 that's interesting
