00:06So I got to choose what tutorial I wanted to show you guys
00:09And I'm going to get my beam out here
00:11And show you how to do a cartwheel on the low beam
00:13So let's go
00:14You might think that a cartwheel on the beam
00:16Oh yeah, it's the same thing as a cartwheel on the ground
00:18But you have to move your feet in a different way
00:20And be ready to balance
00:22And your shoulders
00:23And be straight
00:24And I'll show you guys what to do
00:26Before you do your cartwheel on the beam
00:28You're going to want to have your cartwheel on the ground
00:30So some drills or tips you can do
00:34If you don't have a beam with you at home
00:36And you want to practice
00:38You can take some tape and put it on your mat
00:40Or even the floor
00:42And put a straight line down your mat
00:44To substitute a beam
00:46So the first thing I'm going to do
00:48Is start the cartwheel as you would
00:50Any normal cartwheel on the ground
00:52With your arms by your ears
00:54And your good leg out in front
00:56Then after you get into your position
00:58You're going to kick the leg that's out in front
01:00Up as high as you can
01:02And go into your tee
01:04And make sure after you kick
01:06You put your leg kind of slanted
01:08And make sure it's turned out
01:10So that you can balance well on the beam
01:12You kick, step, and go into your tee
01:18And how you put your hands in a cartwheel on the beam
01:22It really depends on what your coach wants to do
01:24We go like this
01:26We take our good arm
01:28The leg that we're doing our cartwheel with
01:30And take that arm
01:32And put it like this
01:34And then once you get around
01:36You put your left
01:38If you're righty then you put your left arm
01:40And it'll end up looking like this
01:42It'll end up looking like this
01:44After you put your hands down
01:46You're going to make sure that your hips are square
01:48And your shoulders are square
01:50And kick up into your side handstand
01:52With your legs split
01:54Like a normal cartwheel
01:56After you get into your handstand
02:06You'll be in a needle-like position
02:10Coming down
02:12And you'll have your right leg
02:14Make sure you turn it out again
02:16When you're coming back out into your lunge
02:18And make sure you go through a tee position
02:20Back into your lunge
02:22And place your feet so that you stay steady
02:24And keep your hips
02:26Your shoulders
02:27And your head
02:28Square
02:29So a lot of people may think
02:31Oh doing cartwheel on the beam will be really hard
02:34But if you get a spot first
02:36It'll be really helpful
02:37Make sure you definitely try it on the floor
02:39With these tips
02:40And it's a lot easier than you think
02:42And it was really hard for me
02:44But just keep trying
02:45Because
02:46Practice makes perfect
02:48So when you're going

02:52By starting as you would normal
