At today's House Republican leadership press briefing, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) slammed the shooting of an off-duty CPB officer in New York City.

00:03Over the weekend in New York City, an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer was shot in the face during an attempted robbery by two illegal aliens.

00:15These two criminals were allowed into our country by the Biden administration, where they both have gone on to commit multiple crimes.

00:23Assault, kidnapping, larceny, and now attempted murder make up their rap sheet.

00:30Senseless, dangerous sanctuary policies put these criminals back on the streets after their numerous arrests, enabling them to wreak havoc on innocent Americans.

00:42The damage done by the Biden administration's deliberate open border policies cannot be understated.

00:48We are still feeling the consequences of it today.

00:51But President Trump, D.H. Secretary Noem, and Border Czar Tom Homan are turning the tide.

00:57In my state of Minnesota, ICE arrests of illegal aliens have doubled since President Trump took office.

01:04And while the local worthless media in my home state tries to spin that as a bad thing,

01:10the brave men and women of ICE are getting the worst of the worst illegal aliens off the streets of Minnesota and America,

01:18restoring safety and security to our communities.

01:21As these officers enforce the laws, they face an 830 percent increase in assaults.
