00:07A French economist recently slammed working conditions in France

00:11on live TV, sparking debate.

00:20It prompted a flood of reactions on social media.

00:23The economist bases his conclusion on this study from 2021 by Eurofound, an EU agency

00:30which analyses labour conditions in 36 European countries.

00:35The methodology is robust and the results are considered credible.

00:38It includes a job quality index by country

00:42which shows that more workers in France cited extremely strained or highly strained conditions

00:48than in most other countries.

00:50Only in Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia and Poland
