00:00All right, so Fortnite gamers who were charged for unwanted purchases while playing
00:03can now receive part of a multi-million dollar settlement, according to the Federal Trade
00:08Commission. Now, Epic Games is the maker of the wildly popular game. They agreed to pay $126
00:13million to settle these claims that it tricked players into making purchases. Here's what the
00:19FTC says. There were things like confusing buttons, intentionally hard to find cancel and
00:24refund options, and purchases that did not need parental permission. The FTC says Epic
00:30Games also ignored several, or many, when I read the complaint, it was more than a million
00:34consumer complaints, and until February, you have until February to file a claim. But the
00:39FTC now says they've extended that deadline, so tell your friends, until July 9. Now, if
00:45you've already claimed or made a claim, you don't need to file again, but a parent or guardian
00:50must apply on behalf of people who are under 18.
