At a press briefing on Tuesday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was asked why Democrats didn't call for the release of the Epstein files when BIden was president.
Transcript
00:00Go ahead, Burgess.
00:00Will Democrats vote to advance this appropriations bill today?
00:03Look, let me just talk about this appropriations bill.
00:06First, it was done in a bipartisan process, no question about it.
00:11Second, it undoes many of the awful doge cuts to veterans.
00:17And third, we'll have an amendment process after.
00:20This is just a motion to proceed, and we look forward to the amendment process.
00:23Mr. Chairman, given that you're all demanding the release of the Epstein files,
00:26why weren't Democrats calling for the release of these files when Biden was president and when you were in the majority?
00:31I did in 2019.
00:34Not nearly as local as you are now.
00:36Please, that's not true. Absolutely not true.
00:39Thank you, everybody.
