00:00Kabul is one of the oldest cities in the world located in Afghanistan and has a history of over
00:063,500 years. It was once part of the Persian Empire and it became the key stop along the
00:12Silk Road. After that, Islam arrived and changed the region forever. In the 16th century,
00:19Kabul was ruled by the Mughal Empire and it also served as the capital during the era of Babur,
00:25the founder of the Mughal Empire. In the 1800s, British invasion came and Kabul became the
00:32battleground for empires. In the 20th century, Kabul turned into a modern city, but due to Soviet
00:39occupation and U.S. invasion, Kabul was brutally destroyed. Today, Kabul stands as an underdeveloped
00:47city.
