00:00A rainy Tuesday evening to everyone, William Theo here for PTV News Now.
00:06Let's get straight to the stories making headlines and steering national conversation as of the moment.
00:12Several areas have declared a state of calamity due to the heavy flooding and damage brought by several severe tropical storm Crising and the enhanced southwest monsoon.
00:23Among them, Cabite Province, Quezon City, Manila and the town of Calumpit in Bulacan.
00:28These declarations allow local government access to their quick response fund for immediate relief and recovery efforts in their respective communities.
00:38Meanwhile, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian assured the public of uninterrupted support.
00:44Over 490,000 families have been affected nationwide, with more than 14,000 families currently in evacuation centers.
00:53The DSWD has distributed 92,000 family food packs and is set to deploy another 40,000 while Keepin' Relief Hub stocked with millions of additional supplies.
01:04New relief innovations such as ready-to-eat food boxes and water filtration kits are also being deployed under the Marcos administration's directive.
01:13What Donald wants, he gets, or mostly all, and especially as the most powerful leader on the planet.
01:23Donald Trump sits in an attempt to deflect public clamor and calls from his MAGA base to release all of deceased and known sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein's files.
01:34U.S. President Donald Trump is grabbing everything he can, get his hands on to hurl on the wall, and hope something sticks.
01:41Among the things he's thrown so far to the public and his loyal MAGA base, his latest threat to the Washington commander's owners to rename the team's mascot back to the more familiar and original Redskins.
01:55And Trump is leveraging his power and influence over federal committees to provide or set aside taxpayer money to help fund the construction of a new football stadium in the nation's capital.
02:06Likewise, Trump also wants Cleveland's major league baseball team, the Guardians, to be renamed or reverted to its old and more familiar Indians mascot.
02:17Both Redskins and Indians have been deemed offensive or racial slurs to Native Americans.
02:22And at this moment, let's lend our eyes and ears to my colleague in our Pine City Studios for what's hot and happening in the Cordilleras.
02:31Audrey?
