This group was established in 1969 by three Englishmen who lived and acted in Italy in pursuit of glory (and money) - keyboardist Martin Fisher and drummer Pete Huish appeared in Italy in 1966 as part of Thane Russal and Three, lead guitarist Dave Sumner arrived as part of the Liverpool group Motowns. They "sang" and the new trio became known as Sopworth Camel and played his first concert at Piper Club in Rome in early 1969. Residence chose Naples.
