00:00I'm President Isaias Afwerki.
00:02Tensions are rising once again in the Horn of Africa.
00:06Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki issuing a stark warning to neighbouring Ethiopia to not start another war.
00:15Relations between the two countries have been tense since Eritrea declared independence in 1993.
00:21That tension exploded into a brutal border war in 1998-2000, killing tens of thousands.
00:28Now, the Eritrean government says the renewed friction centres on Ethiopia's push for access to the sea, a long-standing ambition for the landlocked country.
00:39In a pointed message to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Adi Ahmed, Afwerki cautioned that share numbers won't guarantee victory.
00:47Ethiopia's population is around 130 million, compared to Eritrea's 3.5 million.
00:54But Afwerki insists this country will not be overwhelmed.
00:58The situation is set to be closely monitored, given the region's history of instability and unresolved tensions.
