00:00So, Ed is kicking the living crap out of cancer.
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at beloved YouTubers who we lost far too soon.
00:09Oh my god, I can't believe it, we're back.
00:13Griffin Klaus, best known as Dylan the Hacker.
00:16Klaus was well known for his epic rants, especially when he took aim at PewDiePie.
00:20PewDiePie, you better be afraid of me! I'm your worst nightmare!
00:25However, many didn't realize he was joking, leading to some backlash from fans of his targets.
00:30But did that deter him? Oh no.
00:32Klaus leaned into the comedy trolling.
00:34He also grew a reputation as a hacker despite only pretending to break into other YouTubers' accounts.
00:40Some people dream of success while you're gonna wake up and work hard at it!
00:45One saga involved him going after the website 4chan, leading to a practical joke war between the two parties.
00:51In 2019, Klaus sadly passed away at the age of 20.
00:55PewDiePie and his best friend BGCumbie paid tribute to him.
00:58I hope you're up there laughing at me right now, buddy.
01:01Corey LaBerry
01:02What up, YouTube? Now, I know you see the title.
01:05Known for vlogging about his life, food, and challenges,
01:08in 2020, LaBerry was celebrating his 25th birthday with fellow YouTuber and tattoo artist Daniel Silva in Los Angeles.
01:15After drinking, Silva drove the two, resulting in a crash that took LaBerry's life.
01:20LaBerry was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
01:24Silva was reportedly caught attempting to escape from the scene.
01:27Bystanders stopped him when he tried running away and was later taken to the hospital by ambulance.
01:32He was originally charged with murder as LaBerry's family issued a lawsuit against him for wrongful death.
01:38Silva later pleaded no contest, resulting in a sentence of one year in jail,
01:43five years of probation, and 250 hours of community service.
01:47When Silva spoke about the crash in 2021, he stated LaBerry's family asked the judge for lesser charges,
01:53which he was grateful for.
01:55I want to start off by saying how sorry I am for all the pain that everybody's going through.
02:00I'm sorry to Corey. I'm sorry to Corey's friends and family, and I'm really sorry to Corey's fans.
02:06Emily Hartridge
02:06Better known as Emily Hart Online, she created videos tackling subjects such as relationships,
02:12family, and her travels, sometimes with a comedy twist.
02:15Her wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round.
02:20She also presented TV shows.
02:22In her final video, Hartridge showed her boyfriend, Jake Hazel, gifting her an electric scooter.
02:26Happy birthday.
02:28Oh my god, two scooters!
02:30In 2019, Hartridge was on her way to a fertility clinic.
02:34However, she was sadly fatally struck by a truck as she rode the scooter in London.
02:38If you're on a road that has a lot of traffic on it, or there are any kind of uneven areas on the road,
02:44it can feel unsafe pretty quickly.
02:47Hartridge was 35.
02:49It's believed this was the first fatality involving an e-scooter in the UK.
02:53Since the tragedy, Hazel has campaigned for mental health awareness,
02:57and has publicly stated he doesn't blame the truck driver for what happened.
03:00I was actually meant to move in the night, the day she passed away.
03:04But for one reason or another, which I'm very grateful for, we decided to move in the Monday before.
03:10So I had four nights living with Emily, which I'll cherish forever.
03:13Talia Castellano
03:14Hi everyone, so today I'm doing my mefie with...
03:17When she was seven years old, Castellano was diagnosed with neuroblastoma,
03:21a rare form of cancer, undergoing years of treatment.
03:24After finding a passion for makeup, Castellano created the YouTube channel TaliaJoy18,
03:29where she gave tutorials and reviews of products.
03:32And then I have this Creche brush, which at first I wasn't a fan of,
03:36because I didn't know really how to use it.
03:38I was kind of using it as a blending brush.
03:40Her rapid rise in setting up a charity to look for a neuroblastoma cure
03:43led Castellano to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2012,
03:47where she was surprised as an honorary face of the brand CoverGirl.
03:51So did you have fun with Lauren?
03:52I did!
03:53Oh, you look great, Lauren.
03:55In 2013, after the cancer had spread and Castellano declined further treatment,
04:00she sadly passed away.
04:01There was a special message posted on our Facebook page.
04:04It reads, quote,
04:04It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Talia has earned her wings at 11.22 a.m.
04:10To keep her memory alive, Castellano's family posted on social media
04:13seeking help to finish her bucket list, which they successfully did.
04:17Daniel Kyer
04:18YouTuber Trio Syndigo members Matt Watson, Ryan McGee, and Daniel Kyer
04:23quickly amassed a large following with their comedy skits, parodies, and music videos.
04:27We're just blonde boys doing what blonde boys do!
04:30The group then struck up a friendship with fellow YouTuber Markiplier,
04:34later moving in with him as they began collaborating.
04:36Please, try not to push your anger on me.
04:39I know this is a troublesome situation.
04:41Everyone handles it in their own way.
04:42In 2015, Kyer was found in critical condition in his bedroom after attempting to take his own life.
04:48He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he tragically wasn't able to recover.
04:52Syndigo then came to an end.
04:54Watson and McGee later stopped working with Markiplier,
04:57but the duo continued to work together on other projects.
05:00Riker Gamble, Alexi Layak, and Megan Scraper.
05:03What does it feel like to be present?
05:06To be here, in the now, and fully experiencing this moment?
05:11The YouTube channel High on Life specializes in travel content,
05:14especially in remote locations,
05:16and has been known to dabble in adrenaline-fueled activities and stunts.
05:20In 2018, co-founders Gamble and Layak, as well as Scraper,
05:24were at Shannon Falls in British Columbia when Scraper fell in the water.
05:28Gamble and Layak tried to save her,
05:30and all three were swept by the current, falling around 100 feet to a pool below,
05:35sadly losing their lives.
05:36I would call him a hero, and the other people that knew him would feel the same.
05:40The rest of the High on Life team released a video in tribute to their friends.
05:44They were three of the warmest, kindest, most driven, and outgoing people that you could ever meet,
05:51and the world has lost a great deal of light with their passing.
05:54The channel continued uploading content, but hasn't published anything since 2022.
05:59Amanda Todd
06:00In 2012, through her YouTube channel The Somebody To Know,
06:14Todd released a video that detailed her horrible experience.
06:17She was just so happy all the time, and like, when you first meet her,
06:21you wouldn't know that she had any problems.
06:24After an intimate image of her was taken while she was in 7th grade,
06:27she was harassed and blackmailed until the image was released online.
06:31When Todd moved schools, this person would send the photo to her classmates,
06:35leading to abuse from them as her mental health deteriorated.
06:38It's a choice. It's a choice.
06:41A month after uploading the video, Todd sadly passed away.
06:44In 2013, the Canadian government introduced legislation to protect children from what Todd went through.
06:50In 2022, after being extradited, Aidan Coban was found guilty of exploiting Todd,
06:56earning him 13 years in jail, which was later reduced to 6 years, alongside 11 years for other crimes.
07:02Tomás Blanche Toledo
07:03In March 2021, while suffering from brain cancer,
07:07the Chilebes Toledo pursued his dreams of becoming a YouTuber, creating the channel Tomi Once.
07:11At first, the channel, focused on his life and video games, didn't get much traction.
07:22But when various social media accounts and YouTubers started to promote it, it took off.
07:27Within a month, Toledo had amassed 8 million subscribers, smashing many records along the way.
07:40This even led to strangers asking him for photos when he was in public.
07:43Sadly, in August of that same year, Toledo passed away.
07:47His family continued his legacy on his channel, as well as using it to promote other young YouTubers.
07:52Steve Cash.
07:53As the creator behind the channel Talking Kitty Cat, Cash was a genius.
07:57As well as being a musician, he created skits with his Talking Cat Sylvester, primarily.
08:02Oh, also, I checked the mail today and somebody sent you a present.
08:05Can you guess what it is?
08:06What?
08:07The clips also featured several of his other pets, like Gibson and Shelby.
08:11Gibson, do you even want to come inside?
08:12I don't know.
08:13What the hell do you mean?
08:14I don't know.
08:14The skits were a massive success, collecting millions of views.
08:19Cash was open during videos about his struggles with bipolar disorder, sometimes needing time away from the channel to recuperate.
08:25In 2020, Cash took his own life.
08:28His wife Celia has released a few previously unpublished videos, as well as an update to Cash's fans about her life.
08:34Benny Potter.
08:35With buckets of enthusiasm, plenty of crack-a-cacooms, and talent as a voice artist,
08:40Potter helped many people get into comics with his work as comic-storian.
08:43This is Injustice Year 1 through 5.
08:46If you've been on our channel for a while, then you know that we've been covering this epic for, like, 3 years.
08:51Filled to the brim with ideas, he had his fingers in a lot of creative pies as he ran several other channels,
08:57including the gaming law account Eligible Monster and manga explainer Mangastorian.
09:01The problem we had with One Piece is that I was reading too much of One Piece to make one video.
09:06When you're trying to read 30 to 50 chapters, it kind of takes up a lot of your time.
09:10He was also involved in multiple podcasts with other comics YouTubers.
09:15In 2024, Potter was driving on Interstate 25 in Colorado when his car went off the road.
09:20Sadly, he didn't survive.
09:22Many friends, family, comic creators, and entertainment professionals gave tribute to Potter alongside his fans.
09:29He wasn't really, he wasn't like a friend, he wasn't like a brother, it was, it felt bigger than that.
09:34Comic-Storian has been continued by Potter's wife Natalie, his brother Andy, and the channel's producer Dan.
09:40Colin Wyckoff.
09:42Better known as Kitty0706, Colin Wyckoff was a talented animator.
09:47He regularly released funny spoofs of video games on YouTube.
09:51Some of the most popular projects that caught the internet's attention involved Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2.
09:56Do you remember me?
09:59Yes.
10:01Let this be lesson for you.
10:05In 2012, Wyckoff was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood cancer.
10:12After battling the disease for three years, Wyckoff sadly passed away in 2015 at the age of 20.
10:19The community decided to make a tribute in his memory by remaking his 2012 hit Team Fabulous 2.
10:24Raising money for leukemia research, the video Team Fabulous 2 reanimated was released in 2020 on what would have been Wyckoff's 26th birthday.
10:35Christina Grimmie.
10:36Bursting onto the YouTube scene in 2009 as ZeldaXLove64, Christina Grimmie released several covers of songs that captivated listeners.
10:45You show me down, but I won't fall.
10:49I am titanium.
10:51In 2011, she finished second place in the My YouTube competition, just behind Selena Gomez, whose mom and stepdad became Grimmie's managers.
11:03Her music career quickly began to take off as she released several albums and finished third in 2014's The Voice.
11:10We clawed, we changed our hearts, simply we'd done, never asked you what.
11:17Breaking news, any singer's murderers.
11:18Christina Grimmie rising to fame on The Voice.
11:21In 2016, after performing at a concert in Orlando, Florida, she met with fans outside.
11:27However, 27-year-old Kevin James Loible, who had an unhealthy obsession with her, fatally shot Grimmie before taking his own life.
11:36Her family later set up the Christina Grimmie Foundation in her memory, to help those affected by violence and breast cancer.
11:43She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord, and she loved me.
11:50And, um, she was just my baby sister.
11:53Dylan Hart.
11:54Put the lid back on to keep it lopsided and prevent it from being crushed completely.
11:58This will make a nice, alluring, crinkle sound that dogs love.
12:01If you needed help with a task around the house or simply a way to speed up a process, the Household Hacker was the channel for you.
12:08Brew a really strong batch of black tea, talking three bags in an eight-ounce glass.
12:14You're going to use it to clean the glass or mirror in your bathroom.
12:17Created by Dylan Hart, the channel showcased tips and tricks for various chores to make your life easier.
12:23Needed to wash your dog, but they're making it difficult?
12:26Well, Household Hacker had you covered.
12:27Work up a nice lather as the dish soap will help kill any fleas and the vinegar will help repel them.
12:33The channel even drew the attention of Mythbusters, with a satirical video that involved charging an iPod with electrolytes and an onion.
12:40In 2020, news broke that Hart had died suddenly.
12:44Scott Kinmartin, Hart's friend and producer on the channel, tweeted it was from medical complications.
12:50He was 38 years old.
12:52Monty Ohm.
12:53In 2007, Monty Ohm showcased his amazing animating skills by releasing the viral video Haloid, which had the characters from Metroid and Halo battling it out.
13:09After releasing more content, working on video games, and gaining an enthusiastic support base, Ohm joined Rooster Teeth.
13:16He worked on their Red vs. Blue web series before creating Ruby and voicing the character Lai Ren.
13:23There's a lot of things we hope to create to make people happy in ways they wouldn't expect.
13:29In 2015, Ohm suffered a severe allergic reaction when undergoing a medical procedure and fell into a coma.
13:35Distraught fans soon flocked to GoFundMe to donate to Ohm's medical expenses.
13:40Unfortunately, Ohm passed away shortly afterward at the age of 33.
13:45In the aftermath, one of Ohm's brothers, Neith, took on the mantle of voicing Lai Ren in Ruby.
13:51But we tend to be masters of our own fate.
13:53The only thing that stops us from doing the really cool things is time.
13:58Caleb LeBlanc.
13:59Hey guys, today's video is going to be a little bit different.
14:02Created to vlog about the day-to-day life of the U.S. family, the LeBlancs,
14:06the Bruteli channel soon ingrained itself into the hearts of millions after starting in 2010.
14:11Did you step in the big old puddle?
14:14Parents Katie and Billy focused the content on their children, Haley, Caleb, and Jules, also known as Annie.
14:23This led to many fans seeing the LeBlancs as a virtual family that they too were a part of.
14:28My name's Caleb, and I'm making history.
14:31But in 2015, tragedy struck.
14:34Caleb passed away suddenly at the age of 13.
14:37It was discovered that he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a disease where the heart becomes thickened.
14:44Since this illness often has no symptoms, Haley and Jules later had their hearts checked and are fine.
14:50The Bruteli channel remained active until 2019.
14:54John Bain.
14:55If you were looking for blunt opinions on video games, you probably watched the content produced by Total Biscuit.
15:02It ended up being really fun, you know, instead of just being a gimmicky.
15:05Again, it's very fanservice-y.
15:06I'm pretty sure most of those characters' breasts were not that large previously, but I'll look into it.
15:11Also known as the cynical Brit and Total Halibut, John Bain's work always sparked conversations between gamers.
15:18In 2014, Bain announced he had cancer.
15:22While that went into remission, another inoperable cancer metastasized to his liver.
15:26Stage 4's pretty bad.
15:28That's when survival chances go in the toilet.
15:31Bain continued to fight valiantly, but in 2018, he fell into a hepatic coma and passed away soon after.
15:38Blizzard decided to release a commemorative bundle for Bain in StarCraft II,
15:42with the profits going to his wife Jenna and son Orion.
15:462020's Doom Eternal even added an easter egg of a top hat and a plaque stating slay cancer.
15:52You do the best you can, you don't give up on it.
15:54You know, it's not just giving up on your life.
15:58It's giving up on everyone that's ever been touched by what you've done.
16:01Grant Thompson.
16:03Since joining the platform in 2010 under the guise of T-Core, T-K-O-R, or the King of Random,
16:09Jonathan Grant Thompson became a standout creator.
16:12The channel quickly became a haven for science fans.
16:16As the channel primarily showcased crazy experiments and explained the results.
16:20If we're standing out in the middle of nowhere, what exactly would it take to make some good clay?
16:24But T-Core also dabbled with life hacks and vlogging.
16:28As the channel grew larger, Thompson decided to step back from the camera
16:32to focus on production behind the scenes and spend time with his family.
16:35So what I decided to do was devote my life to learning.
16:39I wanted to learn how to weld, I wanted to learn how to make circuit boards,
16:42I wanted to learn how to be Tony Stark.
16:44In 2019, Thompson went paragliding in Utah and didn't return.
16:48After a police search using GPS, they found Thompson's body.
16:53He had perished after crashing the paraglider.
16:55He was 38 years old.
16:58The King of Random channel has continued with the blessing of Thompson's friends and family.
17:02You're doing a fine job.
17:04Make stuff you're proud of.
17:05Love you.
17:06Ed Gould
17:07Even before YouTube was invented, Ed Gould was making waves in the animation scene.
17:12I'm Ed.
17:13I make Ed's World.
17:15It's pretty swell.
17:16This led to him creating the UK-based comedy series Ed's World.
17:20Teaming up with Thomas Ridgewell, Matt Hargreaves, and Tord Larson,
17:24they soon attracted a cult following.
17:26In 2011, Gould announced he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the second time.
17:32Yeah, Ed now has to animate from a bed while he goes to this bout of chemotherapy.
17:36Sadly, in 2012, he passed away at 23 years old from a related infection.
17:42But Gould wanted Ed's World to continue.
17:45First, Ridgewell took over with Ed's World Legacy,
17:48and then Hargreaves took on the responsibility with Ed's World Beyond.
17:51The profits from the show were donated to the charity named Young Lives vs. Cancer.
17:56We, the friends and family of Ed, would like to take this moment to thank you for keeping him company
18:00and keeping him strong for all the months he spent in hospital.
18:04Etika
18:04Known for his energetic videos, especially involving Nintendo properties,
18:09Desmond Amofa developed a group of devoted fans called the Joy-Con Boys.
18:14As time went on, Amofa seemed to be struggling as his behavior was becoming erratic.
18:19In June 2019, through his old TR1 Iceman channel, he uploaded a video called I'm Sorry.
18:27I shouldn't have pushed so many people away.
18:29Now I've got nobody.
18:31Then, he disappeared.
18:33Friends, family, and fans did their best to find Amofa alongside the authorities.
18:38They eventually found his belongings on the Manhattan Bridge, and his body was later found.
18:43He was 29.
18:44Several fellow YouTubers have raised money for charity in Amofa's memory,
18:48while his fans have been creatively showing their appreciation for his work.
18:52Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
18:59You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
19:02If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
19:06If people were talking about the streamers that highlighted Minecraft the best,
19:14many would mention Technoblade.
19:17Real name, Alex.
19:18Technoblade, where have you been all this time?
19:20Well, you see, I've been farming potatoes in Skyblock.
19:25That wasn't a joke.
19:26If he wasn't making jokes about his friendly rivalry with Dream,
19:29he could be found building and destroying on a Minecraft server or in a tournament,
19:34to the delight of his many fans.
19:35One day in 2021, Technoblade uploaded a video to explain his absence.
19:41I looked at myself in the mirror and I noticed that my right shoulder was starting to swell like crazy.
19:47He had sarcoma, a form of cancer, in his arm.
19:50Technoblade underwent numerous treatments and surgeries to combat this.
19:54But in June 2022, a video on his channel titled So Long Nerds was uploaded.
19:59I'm Technoblade's dad.
20:01He wrote a message and he asked me to read it to all of you.
20:04Within.
20:05Technoblade's father read from a script written by the YouTuber eight hours before his death,
20:10thanking fans for his happy life.
20:12You don't have to do anything else.
20:17You've done so much for so many people.
20:22Millions of people.
20:26And if you want to now, you can rest.
20:30What memories do you have of those we've mentioned in the video?
20:33Let us know below.
20:33That's all I've got for today.
20:35See you guys next time.
