Seal spotted at Werri Beach

A seal was spotted at Werri Beach on July 17, 2025. ORRCA— the whale, dolphin, seal, and dugong rescue team —cautioned people to keep their dogs on leashes.

00:00So we first got the call for this seal down at Wherry Beach a couple of days ago.

00:07So it's a large adult seal, it is slightly underweight but nothing that's of major concern

00:13at this stage.

00:15It's hauling out during the day and then going back into the water in the afternoon.

00:19It is a dog beach so we're encouraging people to keep their dogs on leads and to give this

00:24seal plenty of space to rest and recover as it is quite a large seal.

00:30So you want to see Brrrr is a long timeite and the last one is a long timeite and we need

00:41to cover all the legs and a little bit more.

00:44So we're going to show a couple of people in the same tank.
