00:00Now, we bring you a big news from the Supreme Court.
00:03Supreme Court seems to have frowned upon the bail that was given to Kannada actor Darshan.
00:09Remember, Darshan is the same man who was accused of killing one of his fans
00:14for allegedly sending jurid messages to his partner, another actor.
00:20Now, Supreme Court has said that they don't think that the High Court exercised discretion
00:26while giving bail to the Kannada actor Darshan.
00:31Karnataka police has taken this case to the Supreme Court now
00:35and has pled against the bail to the actor.
00:39And Darshan, as we told you, is accused of killing Renuka Swami, who was a fan of his.
00:46Now, for more on this, I'm joined by Anisha Mathur.
00:50Anisha, the Supreme Court seems to be taking some sort of a...
00:55They're not really happy with the way the order was dictated by the High Court, it seems.
01:00They're saying that the High Court did not exercise their discretion properly.
01:05What does the Supreme Court really mean by that?
01:07Well, Anish, this judgment that the Karnataka Police has come to the Supreme Court against,
01:14that judgment had granted bail to actor Darshan.
01:18And the Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice Pardewala,
01:21taking note that there are certain observations in the judgment that they are not happy with.
01:26In fact, the court clearly observing in this matter,
01:30that take a look at what the High Court has said in its judgment.
01:35We are not happy with what they've said.
01:36We're not convinced that the High Court's order was correct.
01:40However, the court did not take any action today, did not pass any orders today,
01:45because Senior Advocate Kapil Sibbal, who was appearing for Darshan,
01:48has raised the argument regarding the evidence in this case,
01:52has said that the court should not look into the arguments or the averments made before the High Court.
01:58It should look purely on the issue of evidence and whether there is enough evidence to keep the actor in jail.
02:03On that aspect, now the court said that, well, we will pick out the issues that we are,
02:09we will point out what we have objection to, and now the hearing will be next week.
02:14But for now, no orders have been passed by the Supreme Court.
02:17Back to you.
02:18Thank you, Anisha, for bringing in this.
