00:27They strangled me with a belt when I was seven months pregnant, forced rotten shawarma into my
00:32mouth. I can no longer survive. I've tried. There is no love. Only physical and mental torment.
00:37I haven't had enough of my baby's smile. Manian married Nidheesh Malia Vithil,
00:41an Indian expat, in November 2020. The couple moved to Sharjah soon after. But within months
00:47of the wedding, the abuse began. She was systematically harassed for dowry, constantly

00:56her identification documents and isolated her from loved ones. According to her mother,
01:00Shamila, the harassment didn't stop at finances. Her in-laws allegedly forced her to cut her hair
01:05to make her less attractive because she was fair-skinned while they were dark.
01:09Vipanchika was physically harmed after she confronted her husband over his alleged affairs.
01:13In her final voice messages, Vipanchika said she didn't want her daughter to grow up in such a home.
01:17I used to silently endure their harassment. They abused me for my salary. I was beaten like a dog.
01:23When I complained about my father-in-law's inappropriate behaviour, my husband said,
01:27I married you not just for myself but for my father too.
01:30On July 8, Sharjah police found the bodies of Vipanchika and her 1.5-year-old daughter Vyabhavi.
