Three works by Sheffield artist Phlegm appear in Hillsborough, Sheffield - what residents think.

00:00Three works by a well-known Sheffield artist have appeared in Hillsborough.

00:06The works, murals by the artist Phlem, have all appeared near Hillsborough Corner.

00:12The biggest is on the side of Pro Barbers on Taplin Road,

00:17with smaller ones on the old Barclays on Middlewood Road,

00:20and next to the Hillsborough Tap on Bradfield Road.

00:24They were part-funded by Sheffield Council.

00:25We asked residents what they think about the distinctive works.

00:31I think they just make it look a bit better, you know, rather than just a plain wall.

00:36You know, it just makes it brighter.

00:39I suppose it gives people things to look at and they're walking past.

00:42They're very distinctive, aren't they? Do you like them?

00:44Yeah, I do. Yeah, there's a couple, isn't they, round and about. Yeah, yeah.

00:49I think it's brilliant to see them, to be honest.

00:52I think it really brightens up the community and the shops.

00:56Stops other people graffitiing on walls because it's something worth looking at.

01:04Absolutely brilliant.

01:05No problem with them at all.

01:07They ought to put some more on.

01:09Do you think they've improved the road?

01:10Yeah, makes it a lot better place to walk about.

01:14Yeah.

01:14More interesting.

01:16Instead of looking at bricks.

01:18I think they're really interesting.

01:21I like looking at art and I think they're really good, yeah.

01:26Yeah, I think it's good.

01:29Impressive.

01:30I think it's brilliant.

01:31It's fantastic artwork.

01:32I'm a big fan.

01:33My wife's an even bigger fan.

01:35And I can tell you, it really brings the place alive, you know.

01:38I mean, it makes a big difference to an area.

01:40It's fantastic work and you can't get enough of it.

01:43Hopefully a load of people will come around here and have a look at them.

01:48What do you think of the Flem mural that's appeared on the corner of Taplin Road outside your shop, Pro Barber?

01:55It's been an amazing job and Flem is a famous guy.

01:59And he's done an amazing job, absolutely.

02:04It's been so many people having taken pictures and he's quite a popular guy.

02:08And he's done an amazing job better than teenage writing stuff and it's good for community.

02:14It's absolutely, people love it, especially my customers.

02:18I'm getting great marketing as well.

02:20We really appreciate it through Sheffield City Council and also a person who did it, which is named Flame.
