Nadiya Hussain has spoken candidly about why she thinks her BBC cookery show wasn’t recommissioned, claiming she no longer fit into the broadcaster’s “very neat box.”Last month, the BBC confirmed it would not be moving forward with another series featuring the Great British Bake Off winner, 40, ending a decade-long on-screen partnership.

00:12I kind of like accepted in my head that I was very BBC. They've got me exactly where they want me,

00:17utterly unbiased, neutral. And I am not neutral. I have opinions. They have a neat little box.

00:24When you don't fit that box anymore, there'll be no space for you. My show got great ratings.

00:28I can't see why my show wasn't recommissioned. I decided just to do a social media post and say

00:33that BBC have decided to no longer commission my show. And I did that off my own back. I chose to

00:38put that post out because that's the truth. I received tons of messages since talking about

00:44my situation with BBC. I got an email back saying that this is a proposed statement. And I think

00:50Nadia should say, I no longer want to do my show on the BBC because I'm focusing on different projects.

00:58And I said, that's not the truth though. I do not okay that statement because that's not the truth

01:03and I'm not putting that out. That's when I decided that I wanted to completely do everything by myself.
