Abante: Nothing wrong with SC orders on VP Duterte impeachment, but trial must proceed

There is nothing wrong with the Supreme Court (SC)’s impeachment-related orders to both chambers of Congress, but these should not stop the trial from being carried out immediately.  Thus, said Manila 6th district Rep. Benny Abante on Tuesday, July 15, following the high court’s order to the House of Representatives and the Senate to make their respective comments regarding the status of the first three impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte. 00:07The Supreme Court, they just want to know to be informed properly on what is happening in the impeachment process.

00:16Atin dito, sa Kongreso, nanginiwala ako that the impeachment process must continue.

00:26Continuing naman to eh, hindi naman to kasama sa tinatawag nating legislative mill eh, but it's a continuing process.

00:38Dapat lamang na huwag na i-delay ito ng Senado, eh we submitted that impeachment complaint to them,

00:48oh, nabasa po nila yan, at nakita po nila na talagang, talagang dapat nimbisigahan.

00:57So, you know, I think that the Congress has done its part, constitutionally speaking.
