Amazon brings in $24.1 billion during Prime Day sale

It was another record-setting event for the e-commerce giant.

00:10The event doubled in length this year from two days to four and with deep discounts on

00:14millions of items, customers saved billions while spending big.

00:19According to Adobe Analytics, U.S. consumers shelled out $24.1 billion online between Tuesday

00:26and Friday, a 30 percent spike from last year, and more than twice what retailers pulled

00:31in on Black Friday of 2024.

00:34Mobile shopping led the way, accounting for over 53 percent of purchases and driving $12.8

00:39billion in spend.

00:41And what were shoppers snapping up?

00:43Adobe says sales of kids apparel jumped 250 percent, while home security gear soared 185

00:50percent.

00:51Big ticket items were popular, too — fridges, washers, dryers, TVs, power tools and

00:56computers — all saw triple-digit gains.
