Richard Fuller, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, said: “We always welcome leaders of allied countries such as France last week and the United States to the United Kingdom. I think that's a perfectly reasonable thing for the speaker to agree to.” The US president will be accompanied by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, on his state visit to the UK from September 17 to 19.
