00:00Who is Johnny Mila?
00:07It's a big question, but who is Johnny Mila?
00:11I think a normal guy. He loves to ride a bike with his friends.
00:17He loves to race, the competitions.
00:22He loves music, likes to go with his Vespa.
00:26I like photography.
00:33Sometimes I watch some films.
00:36I love the films where they are speaking about true stories.
00:43If he's part, even better.
00:46I love my family. I love my girlfriend.
00:49I cannot not say it.
00:56Yeah, since when I was really, not really young, but since some years that I'm trying to have fun with a camera.
01:11I like to, yeah, for me photography is a bit an art.
01:16I like to do some photos with, not digital camera, how do you call them?
01:23Like a film camera, yeah.
01:26For the time that I have, I would like to, I like the type of street photography.
01:32So it's that most of, like they say, where I like to do photography more or...
01:41But yeah, I have to say I don't have that much time, so this is...
01:46A retirement plan?
01:48Yeah, I would plan it for...
01:49Johnny Milan's photo book.
01:51Yeah.
01:53Speed machine.
01:55Oh yeah, poor speed machine.
01:58What's faster then, you on the Vespa or are you on the bike?
02:08On the bike.
02:09The Vespa is really old.
02:11It's from 1960 something, so I'm not going over 35-40kph.
02:19Do you like vintage bikes and vintage cars?
02:22Yeah, bikes, yes, of course.
02:27But cars, not that much.
02:30Yeah, more Vespas, I don't know.
02:32Original.
02:33Oh, I can see you in that.
02:35Yeah, I mean, my head will come out from the rooftop, but...
02:40Yeah, that's gorgeous.
02:44What's your first memory of the Tour de France?
02:47Oh, I think it's from some years ago.
02:51Long, long time ago.
02:53Yeah, you know, first memories that are coming from when I was really, really small.
02:59Watching in front on the sofa with my father, my brother.
03:05I was always like dreaming to first becoming a pro rider and then, you know, tour.
03:14And so for me these are the first memories that I have, you know, to watch with all my family, these big grand tours, these pro riders.
03:24Yeah, winning, suffering and yeah, having fun all together.
03:29Yeah, for the moment, you know, I did just two big grand tours and two gyros.
03:37And for me this would be, as we all know, the first Tour de France.
03:42So for me it's a bit all new, the preparation that we are doing also in this period.
03:47Altitude and with a different, yeah, preparation trainings and also how we are catching Tour de France with other races.
03:57So it's a bit everything new, but I like it pretty a lot, I have to say.
04:05This is, this is not a relaxing massage.
04:09It's not the kind of massage where you go in the spa, sit, when you lay down there, relaxing music.
04:18What is, yeah, one of the best?
04:28Simon won it.
04:30This is from Simon, so this is my goal.
04:35Why did you win the match?
04:36Why did you win?
04:37So, maybe I'll share this one to you.
04:41No.
04:42And you give me some of your victory?
04:43No.
04:44Deal?
04:45No, no, no.
04:47Why did you want it? I want it because of a competition. The team had to vote the most
04:55funny guy. It's not just the most funny guy, it's like the best to have around in the bus,
05:02the most positive for the morale. So I was the clown of the team for one year.
05:09No, I'm just kidding. We guys work together. It was important how we create everything,
05:20how we create the team, how we also develop and grow a lot together. I was speaking about the
05:31sprints. Of course, we will always like that is going everything perfect, but we are not machines,
05:38I think. Yes, a couple of sprints, not that much. It's normal to make mistakes, important is to
05:51learn from them. So we learned a lot, we had a lot of fun, we had beautiful moments,
05:59we had other tough moments, but I think all in all, yeah, I think I would describe it like
06:05funny and I really love it. The goal, one of the goal is from the beginning of the year,
06:12of course, to do some victory in general and also some to some they just improve in the classics.
06:26But then, yeah, we have some other goals for the next of the year for the season.
06:32I know that this is going to put a lot of pressure on us, but for sure
06:44we would like to win a yellow jersey. The yellow jersey? The yellow one!
06:49For the first day. For the first day, okay. I know that it's really a big goal, but
06:55yeah, in this sport you live by this big goal and dream. So yeah, I think everyone is dreaming about it.
07:04Yeah, it's even better if someone of my teammates is also dreaming it. So yeah, of course everyone
07:13Exactly, and at the end is the sprints. Remember to do the sprints?
07:16Yeah, I think we are really really good friends. We are always bedrooms together. We are always sharing a lot of
07:37uh, uh, uh, moments together. Uh, so I think we are really, yeah, we really have a good, uh, good relation here.
07:45We are not hiding nothing yet. Uh, I swear. I have a wife, so.
07:50You know, we are coming from, from the track, so it's even more far away. We are, we are knowing each other. So
07:58uh, uh, and bringing on this project that we have, uh, together. So it's really, it's really good and happy.
08:06I'm really happy for it. I guess we, we find, we really, um,
08:17it's really, I mean, when, when it's not able to arrive, I will arrive with more, uh, you know,
08:22my head and my, and my calm, uh, and he is more like, uh, uh, Volcano. So it brings me mentally,
08:32especially also to another, uh, another level. So, uh, I think, uh, for sure he, he helped me a lot.
08:41And yeah, I hope also, I helped him, uh, and, uh, and something.
08:46It's important to have it on him. Like, he has the trust on the, the guy in the front,
08:50and, uh, and, uh, you know, it's, it's important to have the trust, uh, on each other from,
08:55for all of the train. So I think for this, we, we have it. Yeah. For this, we, we have this.
09:02Yeah, actually, I did only one Tour de France and it was, uh, the year that was in September.
09:08So I guess this year will be like, I would say first time also for me, uh, to real Tour de France to,
09:17yeah, yeah, as I said, uh, the real Tour de France. But yeah, I think I'm, I'm pretty, pretty, um,
09:28confident because I know my, my, my job, I know how to do it. Also, uh, we have with us, uh, Eddie,
09:37Edward is really, really important in our group. Uh, you know, a lot of things,
09:43it brings us a lot of, uh, uh, uh, you know, sometimes you are a bit too excited,
09:50especially Johnny and we bring to our group, uh, uh, relax and calm. So yeah, it's gonna be funny.
09:58It's more easy, huh? More easy. Yeah, more hard, huh guys?
10:09Yeah, in general in racing, I think I found the role that really suits me,
10:15that I'm really good in and it gives me just in general, you know, confidence if you know you're
10:21good in something and then yeah, I took a win myself. I don't know if this has something to do
10:28with the confidence I get from the lead outs, but yeah, maybe settling into this role as lead out
10:35gives you more a kind of, um, stress-free, uh, moments when you have a chance yourself and then
10:44maybe you'll make some better decisions, uh, if you can go for it yourself. The connection between
11:02each other's in the race and I would say also, uh, not in the race because we have a lot of fun
11:08together. It's improving, improving day by day. So yeah, like training camp like that, uh, could be
11:17really long and, uh, sometimes it's hard to enjoy, you know, training camp, but with this group is,
11:23everything is easier.
11:24The first stage is the dream stage. I think if, if Johnny could win there, take yellow jersey would be
11:41amazing and would be an amazing start. Um, but of course also, I think the green jersey would be a
11:48a nice goal. We already went to see, uh, the last, uh, 90K, 100, uh, 90K. So we are, we are watching the
11:57finish. We are studying a lot of the finish and you know, to have it in the head, how it will be the,
12:04the road and all. Uh, so not to have the possibility to wear immediately the, the, the yellow jersey
12:13is really like a big, as I said, is a big goal, uh, and something where we will try to arrive there
12:21as prepared as we can. So yeah, we will try to put 100% of ourselves.
12:28I know that tour is really something crazy. So yeah, we hope to, you know, the goal is always to try
12:36to win as much as we can and yeah, it will be like that also in this tour.
12:45Perfect Tour de France is where is, uh, everything coming easy, but it would not be like this.
12:51No, for sure.
