03:50important acts and deeds to be done during the first 10 days of the lecture now we'll discuss the third point
04:02that is the virtues of Arafah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala takes a promise in Surah Burj chapter number 85 verse number 3 Allah says
04:15in Surah Burj chapter number 85 verse number 3 Allah is taking a promise by the witnessing day referring to Friday and by the witnessed day referring to Yom al-Arafah
04:32Allah in the Quran in Surah Burj chapter number 85 verse number 3 Allah says that Yom al-Mashud is taking an oath of Yom al-Arafah
04:39in the Quran in Surah Burj chapter number 85 verse number 3 Allahumber 3 is taking an oath of Yom al-Arafah
04:40it's mentioned in Jahmat Turmudi volume number 6 Hadith number 3 3 3 9 that the beloved Prophet Prophet Sallallahu Wa Ta'ala said that Yom al-Mashud that is the witnessed day or the attended day is Yom al-Arafah
04:52day or the attended day is Yawm al-Arafah that is the ninth day of the Rijjah and
04:59Shahid is the witnessing day it refers to Friday it's mentioned in Musnad Ahmad
05:07realm number two hadith number two four five five that Prophet Muhammad peace be
05:12upon him said that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took a covenant from the loins of
05:20the children of Adam in Arafah and it says that he took a covenant from the
05:27loins of the children of Adam from the descendant and took a covenant and he
05:35bought them from the loins and scattered them like ants on the fields of Arafah
05:41and then escorted the verse of the Quran of Surah Araf chapter 7 verse 172
05:48where it says that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took a covenant from the loins of
05:55children of Adam from the descendants and asked them am I not your Lord and they
06:02replied yes we testify you are our Lord and Allah continues lest on the day of
06:07judgment you will say that you were not mindful that means Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
06:12Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took a covenant from all the children of Adam from the loins from all the human beings that am I not your Lord and all of them testified yes you are our Lord this is mentioned in the Quran in Surah Araf chapter 7 verse 172 that means on Yomul Arafah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala took a covenant from all the human beings
06:39point number three is that Yomul Arafah is the day when our deen was completed and Allah has fulfilled his favor on the human beings it's mentioned in Sahih Bukhari point number one
07:00hadith number 45 that Umar radhi lawan he narrates that a Jew came to him and asked him
07:06oh chief of the believers there is a verse in your Quran which if it was mentioned in our book we would have
07:15celebrated it as Eid so Umar radhi lawan asked which is the verse and the Jew said it's mentioned in your Quran
07:21and he quotes Surah Maida chapter 5 verse number 3 where Allah says on this day I have perfected your religion for you
07:29and have completed my favor on you and have chosen for Islam
07:34Umar radhi lawan replies we know this verse it was revealed on a Friday on the day of Arafah
07:43that means it was the day of Arafah when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he perfected the religion of Islam
07:51and completed his favor on the human beings and has chosen Islam for us
07:57this is the third virtue of Arafah the fourth virtue of Arafah is that Arafah is also a day of Eid
08:05and it's mentioned in Sunan Abu Daud way number 3 hadith number 2419 that the prophet said
08:13the Yomul Arafah that is the ninth of Jilhaj Yomul Nahar that is Eid al-Adha the tenth of Jilhaj
08:18and the Ayya Mutta Shrikh these are the three days following Eid the 11th 12th and 13th of Jilhaj
08:26these are the days of Eid these are the days of celebration these are the days of eating and drinking
08:33so Yomul Arafah for the people of Arafah in Arafah it's an Eid day for them
08:39the fifth virtue of Arafah is that it is the day where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives and frees the maximum slaves
08:49it is called the day of forgiveness and it's a hadith mentioned in Sunan Nasai
08:55volume number 3 hadith number 3006 Aisha r.a. the wife of the prophet said
09:01that the prophet narrated that on no day does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive his servants and free his slaves whether male or female than on the day of Arafah
09:18Arafah and he comes close to the angels and he boasts to them about them and says what do they want that means this day of Arafah is also called the day of forgiveness and on this day Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala frees the maximum slaves ever in the full year on this day of Arafah from the hell fire the sixth virtue of Arafah is that it's mentioned in the
09:48in Jamitur Midhi
09:50verse number 3 hadith number 3585 that the beloved prophet said on the day of Arafah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala hears the supplication the maximum and I and the earlier prophets
10:05they recited
10:07that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and he has got no partners to him belong all the domain and all praises due to him alone and he has power over all things
10:29this is the best dua that anyone can do on Yom al-Arafah that was recommended by the prophet it is called the day of supplication and the seventh virtue of Arafah is that the beloved prophet said as I mentioned earlier in Sahih Muslim
10:44volume number three hadith number 2747 the prophet said that fasting on the day of Arafah expiates your sins of the previous year and the coming year and the same information is repeated in Ibn Majah volume number two hadith number 1730 where the prophet said that anyone who fasts on Yom al-Arafah his sins of the previous year and the next year are expiated
11:12so these were the seven virtues of Yom al-Arafah the day of Arafah now we'll discuss the last and the fourth point that is
11:24Eid al-Adha or Yom al-Nahar that is the Eid or the day of sacrifice the Eid of sacrifice or the day of sacrifice and we know
11:37that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala had asked prophet Ibrahim that what do you love the most in this world but natural after Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
11:48he said my son Ismail and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tests Ibrahim that can you sacrifice him for me and Ibrahim goes and tells his son Ismail and he said don't worry
11:59father you will find me steadfast and on the instruction of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when he's about to sacrifice his son Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala replaces him with a
12:07with a sacrificial animal and this is what we remember every year in Eid al-Adha that we should be able to sacrifice anything in this world for this sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
12:19and during Yom al-Nahar day of sacrifice and Eid al-Adha the Eid of sacrifice if we have the means we sacrifice an animal for one person it is a goat or if you want a big animal like a cow or a camel it can be for seven people and it's mentioned in Surah Hajj chapter number 22 verse number 37
12:40it is not their meat or blood that reaches Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but it is a piety which reaches Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so we don't sacrifice so that the blood and the meat reach Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but we do it for our taqwa our piety should reach Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and what do we do with the sacrifice when we sacrifice the animal we distribute it amongst the poor people amongst the friends amongst the relatives and keep some for ourselves normally it is recommended that minimum one third should be given
13:09one third to the poor people one third to the family and friends and the maximum you can keep yourself is one third this is a practice let me tell you the seal in features that should be done on Eid al-Adha or Yom al-Nahar number one that have a bath early in the morning
13:27number two put perfume on yourself it's a sunnah number three is that wear the best of your clothes
13:37number four say the takbirat number five preferable do not eat anything before the Eid prayer number six go to pray early number seven that it is recommended that all the women including the children including the menstruating women should go for the Eid Salah even if they don't have to offer Salah
14:06Salah or they don't have to go to the Musala and when you come back from Eid prayer see to it that you take another route not the same route in which you went for the Eid Salah and preferable to pray Eid Salah in a Musala in an open ground which is called as Eidka.
14:21Now what is the reason that Ablawad Prophet recommended that all the women and the children including the menstruating women should go for the Eid Salah even if they don't have to offer Salah even if they don't have to go and pray what is the reason why the Prophet said that you go from one route and when you come back take the other route why did he say that pray in a large place Eidka.
14:44For all this we come to know that the reason is so that it boosts the morale of Muslims normally we Muslims offer five times Salah in congregation in mosque once a week in Jumma we have a bigger congregation we pray in the Jumma mosque the congregation is multiple than bigger than what congregation we have during the five times Salah and twice in the year during the Eidain the Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha the Prophet recommended
15:12they to pray in an open ground known as Eidgah why so that a larger number can gather imagine if you live in a village and during the Eid Salah you come to know there are thirty thousand Muslims there are forty thousand Muslims
15:27the morale of the Muslims is boosted and if you are living in an area which has a non-Muslim also
15:33the non-Muslims will think 10 times before interfering with the Muslims
15:37oh the Muslims are 30,000 in number, 40,000 in number
15:40imagine if you are living in a big city and if you pray in one Eidka in which
15:45100,000 gather or a few 100,000 gather imagine the scenario
15:50it will boost up the morale of the Muslims
15:53and at the same time would give a non-Muslim thought that they better not interfere with the Muslims
15:59this is the psychology for which
16:02what is the reason that the beloved Prophet ๏ทบ even told the women and the children to go
16:07even the women if they are menstruating
16:09pray in Eidka, when you go through one way, come through the other way
16:14not the same way, why? so that the other people in the other locality
16:18of that village, of that town, of that city
16:22know, the Muslims are going in large numbers
16:25if you go through route A, come back through route B
16:27so that the people of route A also come to know
16:30the people of route B also come to know
16:32that Muslims are in large numbers
16:33the next important point
16:36when you come back, if you have the means
16:38you sacrifice an animal
16:40if Allah has given you the means
16:42later on
16:45you go and meet
16:46your family friends
16:48it's the day of celebration
16:50and when you meet
16:52the greeting is
16:53may Allah subhanahu ta'ala accept the good deeds from us and from you
