00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best
00:07snacks that have sadly been discontinued.
00:17Unless you're in the United Kingdom, you can no longer get your hands on
00:20squeeze-its. And even then, these aren't 100% the same ones you knew and loved in
00:24North America. That's a shame, because these things are the very definition of
00:32childhood nostalgia. This fruit-flavored juice was made by General Mills, and came
00:37in a unique plastic bottle that you had to squeeze to drink. There's nothing
00:43really fancy about the juice itself, but the bottles were a fun novelty for kids,
00:46and the bright colors certainly drew eyeballs. Squeeze-It was a staple of the
00:5180s and 90s, and it periodically appeared in stores throughout the early 21st
00:55century, but they haven't been around since 2012.
00:59Go ahead, squeeze the fun out of it!
01:01Number 29. Smucker's Snack'N'Waffles
01:05Smucker's is a huge company, but not all of their products are home runs. Case in
01:10point, the very short-lived Snack'N'Waffles.
01:12Brand new from Smucker's, it's the Smucker's Snack'N'Waffles.
01:17These were your basic frozen waffles, only they came with pre-sweetened flavors like
01:21blueberry and maple, so that you didn't need to use syrup. The tagline told you all you needed to
01:27know, ready to eat already sweet. There's a ton of chocolate chips in here, and it's like gooey
01:32chocolate chips. They were first released in 2011, but discontinued just one year later,
01:37owing to poor demand. Luckily, the nostalgic among you are in luck, as a company called Arlington
01:42Valley Farms has taken on the mantle and released their own version of a Snack'N'Waffles.
01:51Number 28. Heinz Easy Squirt
01:53Look, we love innovation as much as the next person, but come on,
01:57purple ketchup? What were they thinking?
01:59Uh, ingredients say Heinz tomato ketchup, and then coloring.
02:05Every kid who grew up in the early 2000s surely remembers Heinz Easy Squirt,
02:09which was basically just ketchup, but, you know, green, purple, and a few other non-conventional
02:14ketchup colors. The condiment came in plastic bottles that were easy to squeeze, and the funky
02:19colors were a huge draw for children who didn't want to use boring old red ketchup. But like all
02:24novelties, the fun quickly wore off. That and countries were beginning to clamp down on foods with
02:29artificial dyes, which certainly did not help. The problems coalesced, and the ketchup was
02:34discontinued in 2006.
02:45Starburst is one of the biggest names in the candy biz, going strong since 1960 and drawing
02:50intense debate among fans. Are you a sweet pink person or a tangy yellow? Is red the greatest candy
02:57ever created, or do you throw them in the trash? All these questions and more were raised with the hard
03:02candy, which was basically just Starbursts, but, well, hard.
03:09All the flavors were here, including a mysterious white one that some say tasted like pineapple,
03:14but may have been apple. Unfortunately, many people loved the soft, chewy texture of Starbursts,
03:20so the hard candy suffered and sales never sparked. It was quietly discontinued in the early 2000s.
03:26Need a boost? Give it some juice.
03:28Number 26. Sun Chips Sweet and Spicy Barbecue
03:31Not every flavor can be a winner. Sun Chips were introduced back in 1991 and made big waves with
03:38their intense, powerful flavors, like French onion and the standard favorite, Harvest Cheddar.
03:42There's nothing quite like that delicious sun-drenched taste.
03:46Back in 2013, Frito-Lay introduced a new flavor called Sweet and Spicy Barbecue that garnered a small,
03:52but devoted fan base.
03:57Amazing.
03:58Unfortunately, it was a little too small, and the new flavor was eventually taken off store shelves
04:03by around the mid-2000s. It is now impossible to find, and the flavor has been removed from the
04:09official lineup on the Sun Chips' website.
04:11I love these chips. They're amazing.
04:12Number 25. Nestle Treasures
04:15One of the biggest conglomerates in the world,
04:17Nestle has certainly made its fair share of chocolate.
04:20When you eat one, ignore everything else.
04:25But not all of their products were winners, like Nestle Treasures, a fun little chocolate
04:29with a gooey center. These small candies came individually wrapped and contained a rich,
04:34viscous center with flavors like peanut butter, caramel, and coconut.
04:38They're new, and they're definitely women's domain.
04:41Unfortunately, the chocolate biz is just way too competitive, and delicious though they may have been,
04:46there was nothing inherently special or unique about Treasures. Alas, it was sadly discontinued,
04:52and is now but a nostalgic reminder of the late 1990s, early 2000s.
04:57New Nestle Treasures
04:58Number 24. Ben & Jerry's Tennessee Mud
05:02The 80s were wild. It was a time when unsupervised children rode rampant on their bikes,
05:07and you could buy ice cream infused with booze.
05:10You slipped me a bottle of bourbon, a little glass, and some ice.
05:14And this wasn't some niche brand either. This was Ben & Jerry's.
05:18Introduced in 1988, Tennessee Mud was a coffee ice cream with almonds, amaretto, and Jack Daniels.
05:24Unfortunately, the demand for Tennessee Mud was just not there, and it was discontinued after one year.
05:30It is now in the company's flavor graveyard. With the brilliant epitaph,
05:35the bottle is empty, the cup and the glass. Mud with Jack Daniels was not meant to last.
05:46Number 23. Danan Sprinklins
05:49It's amazing what some companies think of.
05:51Danan is a yogurt giant. Kids like sprinkles in their yogurt. So Danan thought, why not combine the
06:04two? That's how we got Danan Sprinklins, which was just yogurt that came with a packet of sprinkles.
06:08A surprise in every cup.
06:11The sprinkles added a nice dash of color for kids, and they would eventually blend into the yogurt.
06:15Unfortunately, the little candies were not enough of a draw to entice potential buyers,
06:20and the product was discontinued in the early 2000s.
06:23Luckily, sprinkles still exist, so you can easily make this yourself at home.
06:28Danan Sprinklins, the only yogurt snack with a sprinkles pack.
06:30Number 22. Haribo Sugarfree Gummy Bears
06:33You never know what goes into candy. Like, maltitol. Do you know what that is?
06:38Well, it was inside Haribo's sugarfree gummy bears up until the mid-2010s,
06:43when a media blitz caused the company to discontinue the candy for good.
06:47That was the first swallow. They say it takes about 45 minutes to kick in.
06:51So maltitol is a compound that is often used as a sugar alternative in food,
06:55containing up to 90 percent of sucrose's sweetness.
06:58Unfortunately, it is also a known laxative. You see where this is going.
07:03People who ate those sugarfree gummy bears experienced, to put it bluntly,
07:07roaring farts and explosive bowel movements.
07:10These gummy bears just really turned it into a nightmare.
07:16About the only good to come out of this candy were the resulting Amazon reviews,
07:20which come highly recommended if you need a good laugh.
07:23Number 21. Guacamole Doritos
07:26The commonplace nacho cheese Doritos have been around since 1972,
07:31yet the company is still experimenting with different flavors.
07:34In 2003, they tried their hand at guacamole. The logic is impeccable. Guacamole is Mexican,
07:45and is often paired with various baked and fried goodies. It should have been a slam dunk,
07:49but it was more of an air ball.
07:51The bold hit of guacamole and hint of lime, you just gotta try.
07:55For whatever reason, the chip did not land with consumers, and the flavor lasted just three years
08:00before it was taken off shelves in 2006. Some online petitions have tried bringing them back,
08:06but to no avail. Yet.
08:09Number 20. Butterfinger BBs
08:11For years, Bart Simpson warned us that nobody better lay a finger on his Butterfinger.
08:15You won't mind if I take a bite of his crispity, crunchity, peanut.
08:21I told you, Homer. Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger.
08:26But when it comes to Butterfinger BBs, no one's been able to lay a finger on them since 2006,
08:31not even the Bartman himself. The candy, which is basically a little ball version of the chocolate bar,
08:37had a good run beginning in the early 90s.
08:52But for some reason, we're not sure why, in 2006, they were done.
08:56Three years later, they introduced Butterfinger Bites in an attempt to win back fans.
09:01And while some surely appreciated the new bite size option,
09:04for others, they'll just never be as good as the BBs.
09:15Number 19. Pizza Spins
09:17Pizza is one of the most popular foods in the world.
09:20And along with real pizza, folks have always had an affinity for pizza-flavored snack items as well.
09:26And that isn't just a modern-day thing either. This was also the case back in the 1960s and 70s,
09:31when General Mills introduced their little wagon-wheel-shaped bites of pizza deliciousness called Pizza Spins.
09:36Pizza. They took this pizza taste and turned it into a crunchy, munchy, mouth-sized snack.
09:42According to the General Mills website, they used tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, peppers, and pizza spices,
09:48quote, to give Pizza Spins an authentic Italian pizza taste.
09:52And it must have worked, because although discontinued in 1975, people are still talking about them today.
09:58Can humans resist pizza spin-man-man-man-man-man?
10:02Number 18. Doodads
10:04Who doesn't love a mixed snack bag?
10:07Well, from the 60s through the 90s, and maybe even into the 2000s,
10:11one such yummy combination involved toasted peanuts, pretzels, rice squares, wheat squares, and cheese tidbit crackers.
10:18Kind of sounds like Chex Mix, doesn't it? But it most definitely is not.
10:29It's Doodads from Nabisco, and for decades, it was a very popular snack mix.
10:34Then come the 90s, and it wasn't as popular anymore.
10:37And Doodads became Boo Dads. Because people who love them were sad to see them go?
10:42Awful dad joke aside, if you want to see what all the fuss was about,
10:46you could try making your own Doodads mix at home.
10:49Number 17. Pizzeria's Pizza Chips
10:52While most of us probably associate the Keebler elves with cookies, back in 1991,
10:57those cute little guys took some fresh pizza dough and cooked up the Pizzeria's Pizza Chips.
11:01Come on down and taste something new.
11:03They're right, Uncle Ernie.
11:04In your dreams.
11:06Pizza! Bizonic Man Chips!
11:09New Pizzeria's!
11:11The chips made their debut with three flavors.
11:14Cheese Pizza, Pizza Supreme, and Zesty Pepperoni.
11:17And they were an instant hit.
11:19However, by the end of the decade, the Keebler company had been sold,
11:23and the pizzerias were discontinued.
11:25Allow me, boys.
11:26Pizzeria's! Tastes like real pizza!
11:31That hasn't stopped fans of the chips from trying to bring them back, though.
11:34As of the end of 2021, a couple of Bring Back Pizzeria's Chips Facebook groups
11:39were sporting over 7,000 followers.
11:42Number 16.
11:43Hershey's Kissables.
11:45No, don't worry.
11:46Hershey's Kisses still exist and aren't going anywhere.
11:48No, here we're talking about Kissables, which if you don't remember,
11:52were basically Hershey's Kisses with a candy coating.
11:54If you're thinking it sounds like a bigger kiss-shaped M&M and sounds delicious,
11:58it was, and it was.
12:07So why did they go away in 2009, just four years after they launched?
12:11That's because in 2007, the Hershey company made some cost-cutting moves
12:15that included replacing the cocoa butter with cheaper fats in some of their candies,
12:19including Kissables.
12:21People noticed, and they did not like it.
12:23Sales dropped, and that was the end of Kissables.
12:26Number 15.
12:27Hostess Choco Bliss.
12:29Take two layers of chocolate cake, sandwich a layer of chocolate cream in between,
12:33top it off with chocolate icing, and there you have the aptly named Choco Bliss.
12:37Whoa!
12:38Check that super chocolatey icing.
12:40Awesome!
12:41Ooh!
12:42Hey, whipped chocolatey cream inside.
12:44Billed as a chocolate lover's dream,
12:46these Hostess snack cakes were a lunchbox favorite of many 80s kids.
12:51They sound like they'd be a favorite of ours today as well,
12:53had they not been discontinued decades ago.
12:55Choco Bliss.
12:57A dream come true.
12:58One, two, three.
12:59I'm in ecstasy.
13:01New Choco Bliss from Hostess.
13:04Watch out!
13:04We don't know why Hostess gave up on them,
13:07but we do know there are online forums filled with commenters lamenting the fact
13:11that they can no longer get their hands on this bliss from their childhood.
13:15Number 14.
13:16Oreo Sippers.
13:17As we make the move to try and save our planet,
13:20more and more countries are putting in place bans on plastics.
13:23Most notably plastic bags and plastic straws.
13:27Two of the largest recycling facilities in the US said its machines don't always catch straws.
13:33So they end up in the trash and eventually in landfills.
13:37And while we wholeheartedly support such bans,
13:39we also don't always love the paper straws that some restaurants now use.
13:43But you know what's better than paper?
13:45Oreos.
13:46But you can't make a straw out of an Oreo.
13:49Yes, you can.
13:50And they did.
13:51They were called Oreo Sippers and they were awesome.
13:54Because not only were they a straw, but they were also delicious.
13:58Um, is there anything more eco-friendly than actually eating your utensil?
14:03Come on, Oreo, bring them back for the sake of our planet.
14:06Number 13.
14:07Altoids Sours.
14:09Altoids and those awesome reusable tin containers are a staple in many of our purses and bags and car consoles.
14:16But as good as the regular Curiously Strong mints are, we miss the Curiously Sour ones.
14:21Was it a pleasant experience popping them in your mouth?
14:25Maybe not.
14:25But that was the point.
14:27It said sour on the tin.
14:29And unlike other so-called sour candies, Altoids Sours lived up to the billing.
14:33Mmm.
14:35So how did you like that?
14:38I like that one.
14:39I like it a lot.
14:41People love Altoids Sours.
14:43Will you?
14:44But unfortunately, not enough people wanted that sour face puckering experience.
14:48And according to a representative from the Mars Corporation,
14:51quote,
14:51They were discontinued due to low national demand.
14:55However, if you are truly desperate, you may still be able to find unopened tins on eBay
15:00for the wallet puckering price of up to $525.
15:05Remember, use caution when experimenting with Altoids citrus sours.
15:09Number 12.
15:10Pringles Sticks.
15:11We all know that with Pringles chips, once you pop, you can't stop.
15:15But back in the 2000s and early 2010s, Pringles also gave us sticks.
15:19New Pringles Sticks.
15:22They're crispy cracker sticks with a one-of-a-kind taste.
15:26And once we had sticks, we couldn't quits.
15:29Okay, so maybe we need to work on our tagline game,
15:32but that does not take away from how good these sticks were,
15:35especially the honey butter and cheese-flavored ones.
15:37Crunchy.
15:39Whoa, this one's real good.
15:40I can taste the honey.
15:43However, while the sticks had a loyal fan base, as Pringles posted on their Twitter account back in 2020,
15:49quote,
15:49Pringles Sticks were discontinued in this sector of the universe due to lower demand.
15:54Number 11.
15:56Jell-O 1-2-3.
15:57If you aren't already jealous of kids who grew up in the 80s and 90s,
16:01here's one more reason to be, or should we say, one, two, and three more reasons.
16:05Jell-O 1-2-3 was a magical dessert that, like classic Jell-O, came in one packet.
16:10However, unlike the OG Jell-O, the 1-2-3 version would split into three layers during the three-hour wait time.
16:18What could compete with a dessert that actually forms three layers right before your eyes?
16:23A creamy layer, a fluffy layer, a layer of fruity gelatin.
16:27While we can't speak to the taste, one of the problems with the product was that making it wasn't as easy as 1-2-3.
16:34Getting the three layers just right required a blender,
16:37and the introduction of both boiling and cold water at precise speeds and times.
16:42Jell-O 1-2-3 was discontinued in 1996.
16:45Something that your kids would absolutely love, easy to make,
16:48and you can also substitute your favorite sugar-free Jell-O gelatin product that you'd like.
16:53Number 10.
16:53PB Crisps.
16:54It began with a nut and a bolt that shook his top hat with a jolt.
16:59PB Crisp, an idea for a munch.
17:01You just know a snack is missed when there are groups on multiple platforms asking for their return.
17:06PB Crisps were one such snack.
17:09A small graham that looked like a little peanut, but filled with huge flavor.
17:20That's because inside there was some delicious peanut butter filling.
17:24While PB and J Crisps added jelly.
17:27And chocolate crisps were filled with, you guessed it, chocolate.
17:30It was the combination of crispiness, sweetness, and nuttiness that made us crave PB Crisps back
17:37in the mid-90s.
17:38And we would do just about anything to have them back.
17:42PB Crisp, PB Crisp, PB Crisp.
17:44The sweet taste that is destined for home.
17:46Number 9.
17:47Jell-O Pudding Pops.
17:48Jell-O brand pudding pops made with the goodness of real Jell-O.
17:51Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but nothing quite beats the real thing.
17:56This is a running thread for many of these snacks, such as Jell-O Pudding Pops,
18:00because it isn't as if frozen pudding on a stick has gone away.
18:03It's more that the trademarked brand and that trademarked taste is no more.
18:13Jell-O Pudding Pops were a summertime staple throughout the 1980s and beyond.
18:17A creamy and indulgent frozen treat.
18:20The OG Pudding Pops were lost after General Foods sold the name to Popsicle,
18:24which used their own flavoring and production methods.
18:27The good news is that you can technically make these at home if you buy the Jell-O molds,
18:32some milk, and a little bit of nostalgia.
18:34Jell-O brand Pudding Pops.
18:36All the goodness of real Jell-O pudding made with milk, so you know it's wholesome.
18:40Number 8.
18:40Peanut Butter Boppers.
18:42Good ol' creamy peanut butter's gone.
18:44Boppers!
18:45Trust us when we tell you that you have not lived unless you've had peanut butter boppers in your mouth.
18:50This crispy, creamy, and utterly delicious snack was almost sinful in its ridiculous indulgence.
18:56The snack was from the Nature Valley Company,
18:58which today is more closely associated with healthy-ish granola snacks.
19:03There was nothing remotely health conscious about peanut butter boppers, however.
19:06Unless we're counting the protein in the peanut butter?
19:10Peanut butter boppers!
19:11It's creamy peanut butter, a crispy coating, and a whole lot more!
19:17Regardless, this creamy PB center was smooth and velvety in texture.
19:21A mouthfeel that clashed in the best way possible with those crispy crunchies on the outside.
19:26Seriously, someone find us some peanut butter boppers.
19:29Peanut butter boppers!
19:31New from Nature Valley.
19:32What a snack!
19:33Number 7.
19:35Flintstones Push-Up Pops.
19:37Push-Up Pops were around in the 80s and are still around today.
19:41But they were at their most popular, and according to many, their yummiest from 1990 to 1996,
19:47when they were branded as Flintstones Push-Up Pops.
19:49Fred, Barney, Wilma too!
19:51Make every bite more fun for you!
19:54Push-ups!
19:55Flintstones Push-Ups!
19:56Something about that modern Stone Age family
19:58made pushing frozen treats out of a cardboard tube so much better,
20:01and that much more yabba-dabba delicious.
20:04Flavors like Lime Rock Lime and Bedrock Berry were just as good as their puns.
20:09It takes a dinosaur to bring you a taste this big!
20:12Fruity Flintstone Sherbet and Creamy Cool Vanilla.
20:15And they even had a Pebbles Push-Ups line that added nerds' candies to the frozen goodness.
20:20Number 6.
20:21PB Max.
20:22It don't stand for piggy banks, platinum blonde, peace baboon.
20:26Let's face it, candy bars come and go, most without much fanfare.
20:31There are some serious calls for the return of the PB Max, however.
20:35A Mars candy creation that really was something else.
20:38The final form of PB Max wasn't just peanut butter and chocolate,
20:42but a delicious cookie topped with PB and then covered in sweet chocolate heaven.
20:47PB means peanut butter, real peanut butter, lots of real peanut butter,
20:52in pure milk chocolate with the crunch of a whole grain cookie.
20:55The most frustrating thing about the PB Max's demise is that it actually sold really well.
21:00However, the Mars family reportedly didn't like peanut butter, or money apparently,
21:05so they used this subjective opinion as a means for the PB Max Axe.
21:09What a waste.
21:10PB Max, we mean peanut butter.
21:13Number 5.
21:14Cheetos Twisted.
21:15It's geometry time.
21:17Ooh, snackometry time.
21:20It may seem as if there's a new flavor of Cheetos available every week,
21:24so you'd be forgiven if you didn't notice that Cheetos Twisted no longer exist.
21:28New Twisted Cheetos snacks.
21:30These curly Q-shaped Cheetos snacks were thicker,
21:33meaning more of that finger-staining cheese dust to coat your fingers.
21:37They also arrived armed with that patented Cheetos crunch,
21:40and were available from around 2002 to 2012,
21:43but all good things must eventually come to an end.
21:47The Cheetos folks discontinued their Twisted brand,
21:49but never fear because the company is bound to create something similar down the line.
21:53This is the Twisted Fingers and Cheezer.
21:57Number 4.
21:57Yo-Go's.
21:58Hellog's Yo-Go's just got hit with watermelon splash flavor.
22:02Part fruity flavor, part yogurty coating.
22:04New watermelon splash flavor.
22:06Yo-Go's.
22:07World's of fun.
22:08Parents will often do just about anything to get their kids to eat healthy,
22:11but even the busiest folks have their limits.
22:14Yo-Go's weren't trying to masquerade as healthy fruit or yogurt,
22:17but instead were sugary fruit flavored snacks with a yogurt coating on top.
22:21They were an acquired taste to say the least,
22:24but millennials were on that taste back when they were kids,
22:27as Yo-Go's seemed to be on top between 2005 and the beginning of the 2010s.
22:31Snow-Go on the Yo-Go.
22:34Chewy, sweet, sour, and available in varieties of berry flavors,
22:38Yo-Go's were perhaps too unique for this world,
22:40and burned so bright that they could never be brought back.
22:43Ah, what a blast!
22:45Just like new Go-Go Gorilla mix.
22:47Seriously, rough stuff.
22:49Number 3.

23:06It was just us?
23:07Oh well.
23:08We have no regrets about devouring this indulgent snack from the Philadelphia people.

23:28because we guarantee you're gonna have a moment.
23:30We can only hope and pray that the next time we stroll by our grocer's freezer,
23:34this classic snack will be staring back at us.
23:37Treat yourself to the rich and creamy cheesecake taste of Philadelphia snack bars.
23:41Here you go, Fluffy.
23:42They're a legit taste of heaven.
23:44Number 2.
23:45Hershey's Bites.
23:45The Hershey's Company has so many delicious snacks under their belt,
23:53it's easy to forget that there's also plenty of forgotten classics.
23:56Hershey's swoops were one, but the penultimate spot on our list goes to the much-missed Hershey's Bites.
24:06No, not the candy bites, but this even crunchier and more snackable concoction that came in a variety of flavors.
24:12Hey, look who just showed up! Introducing new Kit Kat and Heath Bites!
24:17You get the feeling everyone is staring at us?
24:19What, is my bag open?
24:20Rolos, Kit Kats, Peppermint Patties, and more were all shrunk down and packaged in a size that was perfectly geared for guzzling.
24:28Unfortunately, they posed a choking hazard for some, and most of the line was discontinued.
24:34However, Hershey's website does say that limited flavors can be purchased direct,
24:39but don't go scouring store shelves for this one.

24:58Number 1.
24:59Keebler Magic Middles.
25:03If there were ever a snack cookie king, this was the one.
25:13The mighty Keebler elves truly outdid themselves when they magically concocted the recipe for the perfect treat.
25:18Cut him smuggling melted chocolatey filling out of your factory.
25:22Pretty clever. He hid it inside this chocolate chip cookie.
25:26Oh, you mean Keebler Magic Middles.
25:28The shortbread wasn't too sweet,
25:30and held its integrity against that chocolatey or peanut buttery flavor core
25:35that burst onto your taste buds with the force of a fudgy freight train.
25:38Oh, and if you warmed these bad boys in the microwave for a few seconds, absolute heaven.
25:44We're not sure if we can go all the way to the top of the Keebler elf hierarchy for some answers,
25:48but we are desperate for Magic Middles to be made available again.
25:52New Magic Middles from Keebler.
