00:04encouraging his audience to report a father he was debating to Child Protective Services.

00:09Now the backlash is growing and Dean's trying to explain himself.

00:13It all started when a clip of progressive American live streamer Dean Withers surfaced,

00:17showing him in a tense debate with a caller who identified himself as a dedicated parent.

00:22The conversation, which was already a heated exchange over the age of consent,

00:26took a sharp left turn when Dean turned to his chat and dropped this bombshell.

00:30So here's what we're going to do.

00:32I think that you don't deserve to have any custodial rights of your child.

00:37The 20-year-old streamer then shifted his focus to the viewers watching live,

00:41publicly sharing the father's TikTok handle and continued,

00:44It's going to be their handle. If there happens to be anybody in here that's good,

00:48it has like facial recognition software.

00:50But before he could finish the sentence, the father cut him off sharply.

00:53Oh, you can find me. It's fine. Nothing I said was wrong.

00:58And why are you trying to dox people, dude? That's weird.

01:00Because I want to find who you are so I could call CPS and have them take your child away from you.

01:04The video has since been re-shared across multiple platforms,

01:06most notably by TikTok user FatherRoman27,

01:10whose audience is not okay with what they see as an emerging doxing scandal.

01:15One of the most repeated takes, quote,

01:17Dean thinks kids can consent, someone check his laptop.

01:20This isn't the first time Dean Withers has used this parent call-in style format

01:25or made controversial comments during it.

01:28In fact, the resurfaced video shows Dean wearing a tan shirt when speaking with the father.

01:32He is now accused of trying to dox.

01:34While in the streamer's most recent TikTok,

01:37he's now wearing a black shirt,

01:38addressing the current backlash while still speaking to a different set of parents,

01:43once again, steering the conversation into legal territory

01:46and crowdsourcing judgment from his chat.

01:48And around the three and a half minute mark of the video,

01:51after a back and forth discussion of who gets to consent for minors under 18,

01:55And what was your first response to that?

01:58Did the parents give consent?

02:00Did they allow it?

02:02Precisely.

02:02The 20-year-old creator explained the accusations of doxing are false,

02:06as he directed his viewers to take the parents' public information

02:09and privately send it to local CPS authorities.

02:13Even explicitly stating to not post it on the internet.

02:16But continued his statement apologizing for his actions,

02:19as he stated,

02:20I shouldn't have directed my fanbase to do that.

02:23For that I take accountability.

02:24There was around a billion and one ways to better respond to that,

02:28and I dropped the ball.

02:28Withers' comment section shows more support for the young streamer.

02:32One fan wrote,

02:33The right has tried so hard to cancel Dean for months now,

02:36they'll twist anything to make him seem like a bad person.

02:39And another explained,

02:41They're all doing, quote,

02:42clearly kids can't consent,

02:44when the point is that parents shouldn't be able to consent to exploiting their children either.

02:49But while Dean attempts to share his narrative in his latest video,

02:52the real-world consequences for the father at the center of the original stream

02:56are starting to escalate.

02:58The man who goes by GoatMan91096 on TikTok

03:02has now launched a GoFundMe campaign,

03:04stating he's preparing to take legal action.

03:07In the GoFundMe description,

03:09the TikToker,

03:09goes by the name Thomas,

03:11wrote,

03:11I'm not one to ask for help,

03:13I'd much rather just handle this myself.

03:15But as a father,

03:16it's my responsibility to protect my family,

03:19and Dean's actions put my family in danger.

03:22But while Dean's fans are standing by him,

03:24arguing this is another attempt to cancel a rising progressive voice,

03:28the GoFundMe signals the line between debate and doxing has clearly been crossed.
