Solid Aero has officially unveiled the Talay, the world’s first multifunctional drone capable of operating as an ekranoplan, during the IDEF 2025 international defence exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Talay can fly approximately three metres above sea level, making it virtually undetectable by most coastal radar systems. With a payload capacity of up to 30 kg, the unmanned vehicle can be used for reconnaissance, transport, attack missions, or even as a kamikaze drone. According to the manufacturer, the Talay can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h and has a flight endurance of up to three hours, covering distances of up to 200 km.
