00:01Without objection.
00:03So, Mr. President, Donald Trump's big, ugly bill hasn't even been law for a week,
00:10and already the troubling headlines are pouring in.
00:15This morning, let me start with a few headlines from around the country,
00:18crystallizing the devastating impact that the Republican's signature bill has.
00:25From News 9 in Oklahoma, quote,
00:28Oklahoma health care officials warn of rural hospital closures amid pending Medicaid cuts.
00:35From CBS 13 in Maine, Medicaid cuts lead to rural Maine hospital closures and service reductions.
00:44From Nebraska, rural Southwest Nebraska clinic closes, blaming expected Medicaid cuts.
00:51So we have proof the big, ugly bill is, in fact, already shutting down hospitals.
00:59It's cutting off health care.
01:01Donald Trump and Senate Republicans promised their bill would not touch Medicaid,
01:05but these headlines show that that is a lie.
01:08Worst of all, people are going to die because of Donald Trump's big, ugly bill.
01:14According to a study by Penn done on the House bill,
01:17Republican cuts to Medicaid and health care will lead to 51,000, 51,000 preventable deaths a year.
01:26And again, that is the House version.
01:31The Senate Medicaid's cuts were even deeper, more harmful, worse.
01:35It translates to one preventable death every 10 and a half minutes.
01:42All so that the billionaires, so that the billionaires can pay less in taxes.
01:47It's profane.
01:49It's morally bankrupt.
01:51It's sickening.
01:52It's not reachable.
