Long past the point where he stopped thinking he might one day sing Consider Yourself from Oliver! on stage, Adam Fox gets the chance to do precisely that in the new outing from Chichester’s CAOS Musical Productions.

good afternoon my name is phil hewitt group arts editor at sussex newspapers lovely to speak again
00:06
to adam fox from chaos musical productions now you always do interesting things roles will never
00:13
play and it's july the 31st to august 2nd at westbourne house explain that concept roles
00:20
will never play what makes that for everyone uh so roles will play is one of the kind of newer
00:26
concert concepts that's come out recently in that it's based around people that are not the normal
00:32
casting type singing songs that would have been that casting type so if you're 30 you're playing
00:39
a child role there's some male female gender swaps there so us guys get to have a a shout at some of
00:45
the big female numbers um and vice versa uh there's little twists in there so just anything where you
00:52
wouldn't expect that performer to be doing that song and for you personally it's a chance to do
00:58
consider yourself from oliver way past the moment where you thought yes at the ground i will be
01:05
doing the 14 year old dodger yeah because i uh i never got the chance when i did it when we did
01:10
oliver so it's uh it's nice to get that one uh ticked off the list and you suggested the song why was it
01:15
in your mind to do that one uh well i obviously saw it at cft um chichester festival theater uh last
01:22
year um and it was it's a hell of a rousing chorus number i thought it'd be good as a big ensemble
01:28
piece as well so it again never got the chance to do it when i was the right age to do it um and
01:34
it fits quite nicely with a big old ensemble jaunt at the end of act one absolutely and the whole show
01:40
is about people stretching themselves a bit isn't it presumably yeah it's it's different where you
01:47
kind of play around with keys of songs and stuff like that to try and find something that fits
01:51
um different vocal types and it's yeah it really stretches the cast that you've got uh to be put in
01:57
places where they wouldn't normally be put in um and it's really interesting from that point of view
02:02
for sure fantastic well lovely to speak to you again i'm sure it would go brilliantly thank you no
02:08
no worries thank you phil
