00:00Is it true that you and Val are about to celebrate 30 years of marriage in a couple years?

00:04In a couple years, yeah. I think we're at 28.

00:08You know you've been married a while and you're kind of losing count, right?

00:11Totally.

00:12I know you've probably answered the question a million times about what your secret is,

00:15but what was your secret about overcoming challenges together?

00:19How did you guys always work together?

00:20I mean, communication's the biggest one.

00:22I think these are answers that everyone kind of says, but it's really true.

00:27And it's trying to have honesty within the communication, but still be truthful in a loving way.

00:34Because truth hurts sometimes, but your spouse really should be there to help refine you,

00:41meaning we're able to be open and honest with each other and it might hurt,

00:45but we love each other so much that it's like to do it in a way that is supportive and building each other up.

00:51And then sometimes you just got to stick through it and it just stinks for a season, you know?

00:57But you're like, we can do this.

00:59We can do this.

01:00And that's what we've managed to do.

01:02But we have a lot of laughs and we have a lot of love for each other and we genuinely enjoy being around each other.

01:09So that helps a lot.

01:10That does help a lot.

01:10But I think in your movie with Cameron, his character says that your character is waiting for the day when God brings somebody into your life.

01:19Yeah.

01:19When God brought Val into your life, did you know from day one that this was your person?

01:23I didn't know from day one.

01:25No.

01:25I just thought he was really cute and I really liked him and I liked his little Russian accent when I was 18.

01:34But I was 18, so I wasn't thinking of marriage.

01:36Sure.

01:37And he was kind of really the first guy I ever dated, so it wasn't quite on my mind right at the start.

01:42Sure.

01:43But then, yeah, we kept talking and it just went from like zero to a hundred.
