Transcript
00:00Now, please help me welcome to the podium the amazing Secretary Pete Hegseth. Thank you all.
00:11Well, Brooke, thank you so much for your incredible leadership on this issue.
00:15It's an honor to be here. It's a very important one.
00:17I think we're all here for two basic reasons.
00:20One, under President Trump's leadership, we're going to put America first.
00:22We have America, American land, American basing, American troops, American citizens.
00:31You have a Secretary of Homeland Security who cares about homeland security.
00:37You have an attorney. Imagine that.
00:40You have an attorney general that cares about justice.
00:43You have a Secretary of Agriculture that cares about our farmland and our farmers.
00:47You have governors who've led the way and senators and congressmen who now have reinforcements from an America first movement.
00:53That it's about America first, but it's also just the application of common sense.
00:59As someone who's charged with leading the Defense Department, I want to know who owns the land around our bases and strategic bases
01:07and getting an understanding of why foreign entities, foreign companies, foreign individuals might be buying up land around those bases.
01:14That's something I should be paying attention to on behalf of the American people, on behalf of my department, and on behalf of the President.
01:23It's common sense.
01:24And so food security, just like energy resilience, just like where we get our water, that's all national security, especially in a contingency.
01:32So we would be asleep at the wheel if we were not fully a party to an effort like this to ensure that our nation had the food supply it needs.
01:41But specifically, our troops have what they need on our bases so that in those moments, you can rely on us here in the United States to provide that security.
01:51So no longer can foreign adversaries assume we're not watching and we're not paying attention and we're not doing something about it because we are.
01:59So, Brooke, thank you very much. Appreciate it.
02:05Please help me welcome to the podium to speak of the agroterrorism threats, our incredible Attorney General, Pam Bondi.
