00:00A surprise for Donald Trump on his third face-to-face encounter with Benjamin Netanyahu since returning
00:06to office.
00:07I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee.
00:14It's nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well deserved.
00:18Netanyahu's visit to Washington comes after the Israeli Prime Minister and US President's
00:22recent joint strikes on Iran, held by both as a success.
00:27Now Trump is hoping to clinch a ceasefire and hostage release deal in the Gaza war.
00:33Over in Doha, an Israeli delegation and Hamas officials continued with talks on a US-backed
00:39proposal for a truce.
00:41When asked if clashes involving Israeli soldiers could hamper those discussions, Trump and
00:46his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wyckoff, appeared upbeat about the prospect
00:50of an agreement.
00:51They want it, they want to meet and they want to have that ceasefire.
00:55We have an opportunity to finally get a peace deal, Mr. Prime Minister, as we discussed,
01:00and I'm hopeful for it very quickly.
01:03Wyckoff is set to join talks in Doha this week.
01:06He played a significant role in crafting the 60-day ceasefire proposal at the heart of the
01:11discussions.
01:13The proposition would reportedly involve Hamas releasing 10 living hostages and the bodies
01:18of 18 dead hostages.
01:21In return, Israel would free some of the Palestinian prisoners held in its jails and withdraw from
01:26parts of the Gaza Strip.
01:29According to Palestinian sources, the main barrier to progress in the talks is Israel's
01:33refusal to permit the free and safe entry of aid into Gaza.
01:38Israel states it's taking steps to get aid into the enclave, but seeks to prevent militants
01:42from seizing supplies.
01:45Back in Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister announced that he has been working with the
01:49US on finding countries to potentially relocate Palestinians.
01:53A plan that the Palestinian presidency has previously rejected, pointing out that it would break international
01:58law.
