00:00A lot of pressure from the outside world, a lot of tension in the bunch, high level,
00:12a lot of situations that came from every corner let's say. But I think it was a very good first
00:20participation for me and for the team as well. We said towards the outside we go for top five
00:27because there was a more safe ambition to speak out but I knew inside of my head and my heart
00:36that I really wanted to go for the podium in Nice. We really saw that my shape was really stable
00:44during the whole three weeks but that I never had a day where I could really go over the limit so I
00:51think that's where we saw that I always lost some time towards Tadej and Jonas.
00:56And Remco is struggling but now is he pacing himself?
00:59That's the point that we wanted to improve the most to make sure that I can just push a little
01:06bit more on the final climbs to make sure that the gap is smaller or that there is no gap anymore.
01:14You win the tour in the mountains and not necessarily on the TT stages so I think we
01:20focused a little bit more on climbing than on time trialling. Actually normal training ride,
01:27four hours planned, it was slightly raining, a road that I take almost every day. I passed some parked
01:33cars and the last car was a postal car. I went actually straight on the corner of the door,
01:40so really on the the sharp iron and I took the hits completely on the shoulder and everything
01:46inside was pretty damaged. I mean I saw my season let's say passing by and just a finger click.
01:57Winning the tour is something different than just winning a one-week race. You need a full team
02:02behind you, you need luck. I'm actually in a pretty good shape now. I feel like I'm close to my shape
02:10of the tour last year. It would be very nice to really close the gap so I can really feel that I'm
02:16capable of being one day on the on the first podium step. I believe that I can have a bigger chance this
02:22year than last year.
