00:00You've held several key positions, including Minister of the Interior, Minister of Education.
00:05I'd like to start by asking you about your vision.
00:09What does the future of higher education and innovation look like in the Islamic world to you?
00:15I think it's not just the Islamic world, but if you look at the new global landscape,
00:20the entire humanity is facing a very big challenge.
00:24The challenge is that as we enter into a new digital revolution age,
00:30where new technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology,
00:37and a host of other emerging technologies are redefining the paradigms
00:42that were developed during the Industrial Revolution for the world economy
00:47are drastically changing or becoming completely obsolete.
00:51And there are now new emerging models or alternatives that are emerging.
00:57So everywhere, if you see today, everyone is reimagining their higher education
01:03to prepare youth of their country so that they can proactively embrace the challenges that are awaiting them.
01:12It is said by World Economic Forum that most of the jobs that we have today
01:17are likely to become redundant in the next 10 to 15 years.
