Rishikesh — A massive fire broke out at a wedding point in Ganganagar area around 4 AM on Friday due to a short circuit. Six people were sleeping inside when the blaze erupted, fuelled by cloth tents and foam chairs, and spread rapidly.
Four vehicles parked nearby were completely burnt, and flames even reached adjacent houses, forcing residents to remove gas cylinders and belongings.
Despite the efforts of eight fire engines, the fire could not be brought under control. Mayor Shambhu Paswan, spotting the flames during his morning walk, rushed to the scene to assess the situation.
