00:00I'm here in Copenhagen for the start of the Danish presidency of the EU Council
00:05and one priority is key, security.
00:09Denmark wants to ramp up defense spending across the European Union
00:13in order to build deterrence's capabilities against Russia.
00:17This, they say, needs to be done by 2030 at the very latest.
00:21This is the day by which, according to Danish officials,
00:24Russia could launch an all-out attack against a NATO member state.
00:30At the same time, Denmark wants to ramp up military and financial support for Ukraine
00:35now that the United States is pulling away.
00:39Denmark is even pitching the idea that Ukrainian defense companies
00:43could come to the European Union to build and manufacture weapons
00:48in order to then transfer those ammunitions and equipment to the battlefield in Ukraine.
