“280 roads blocked, 1100 DTR down…” Spl secy of R&DM DC Rana on HP monsoon

Description: Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), July 3, 2025 (ANI): Speaking to media on Monsoon entering Himachal Pradesh and the upcoming arrangements for any disaster management, the special secretary of Disaster Management and Revenue Department, DC Rana said that so far the loss is estimated at Rs. 300 crores, around 280 roads were blocked more than 1100 DTR were down and 600 water schemes were affected by the monsoon.He said, "Monsoon entered Himachal on June 19 and it has been raining continuously since then. On June 29 and 30, the entire region experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in significant damage. The death toll so far is close to 30... Yesterday, 10 people died in Mandi and around 34 people are missing. There is a communication issue. The picture would be clear when the communication is restored and the connectivity is better, then more accurate figures will be revealed..."Further he said, "... So far, the loss due to damage is estimated at Rs. 300 crores... Around 280 roads were blocked, more than 1100 DTR were down, and 600 water schemes were affected, but the restoration work is also being carried out at all places..."
