Shimla (HP) June 29, 2025 (ANI): HP Minister Jagat Singh Negi reported significant flash floods and rainfall in Shimla, Kangra, Sirmaur, and parts of Kullu. The flash floods have caused substantial loss of life and property, with nine individuals caught in floods at a power project site in Dharamshala, six of whom have been recovered. Road connectivity, water, and power lines have been disrupted. A review meeting will take place on Monday to assess the situation and plan restoration. All district-level disaster management units have been put on high alert.On flash floods and heavy rainfall in the state, HP Minister Jagat Singh Negi said, "In the districts of Shimla, Kangra, and Sirmaur, there has been a significant rainfall outbreak, with some impact in the Kullu area as well... Flash floods have caused considerable loss of life and property. In Dharamshala (Kangra district), at a power project site, nine individuals were caught in the flash floods, eight were swept away, and one survived. Six bodies have been recovered so far, with one more identified today.... Road connectivity, drinking water schemes, and power lines have also been impacted in several regions... Efforts are ongoing to restore road connectivity, electricity, and water systems... A review meeting has been scheduled for Monday, which will include officials from Revenue and Disaster Management, PWD, Jal Shakti Department, and the Electricity Department, to assess the situation and plan further action. All district-level disaster management units have been placed on high alert, including regional and tehsil-level officers, especially from the Revenue, Police, SDRF, and NDRF."
