On the House floor, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) mocked Democrats' upset at the Big Beautiful Bill.

00:09a nation primed and ready to enter the golden age.

00:14One of the many strong reinforced byproducts of our Republican vision is the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

00:23It is one of the most consequential pieces of legislation that any party has ever passed, and for good reason.

00:33The provisions interwoven in this legislation are monumental.

00:37They are what the American people voted for in November.

00:41Historic tax relief for working families, massive investments to secure our nation's borders,

00:48capturing generational savings, slashing waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs

00:56so that they may run more efficiently for those who truly need them.

01:03Mr. Speaker, I could opine at length about the wins that Republicans have secured in this bill,

01:10wins that we've been highlighting to the American people for months.

01:14Meanwhile, our Democrat colleagues have resorted to fear-mongering and wailing from their bully pulpits

01:23in the hopes of deceiving the American people.

01:27For months, we've heard Democrats claim that the sky was falling.

01:31All hope is lost because H.R. 1 will bring about the end times

01:37and a litany of other outlandish and absurd claims.

01:42They are so desperate to smear H.R. 1 and deny the American people the policies

01:50that the American people overwhelmingly voted for in November.

01:57But let's again focus on what this bill accomplishes.

02:02It yields the single greatest cut in wasteful government spending in congressional history

02:08by slashing far more than a trillion dollars of bloat.

02:15It preserves the greatest battle-tested set of tax cuts for working families

02:23that our nation has ever seen or our economy has ever realized.

02:28It doubles down on the border priorities of the most successful enforcement efforts

02:35by a president in our nation's history.

02:39It realigns our economy in defense of American workers,

02:43American energy, American businesses, and American job creators

02:50to unleash the engines of our economy, raise the tide of our economic standards,

02:56and bring a new definition of American greatness to the world.

03:01Perhaps the reason why Democrats are so desperate to smear this legislation

03:07is because they are caught in their own self-inflicted malaise of denial.

03:16Perhaps they still can't accept that Americans chose Republicans

03:20to lead the nation instead of them.

03:24That said, Mr. Speaker, Republicans are not distracted by that fear-mongering

03:29and doomsaying of those who want H.R. 1 to fail.

03:35The facts are on our side,

03:38and we've been cutting through the noise by bringing those facts

03:43to the American people for months.

03:45So that the record is clear,

03:49a vote against this legislation is a vote to greenlight

03:56the largest tax increase in American history being levied

04:00against everyday men and women.

04:04Decimate decimation of millions of jobs across America.

04:09This is not fear-mongering like what our colleagues across the aisle

04:21have been engaging in.

04:22These are just facts.

04:25Mr. Speaker, the pathway forward is crystal clear.

04:29The House must pass this rule and pass the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1

04:33so that more wins can be delivered to the American people.

04:38The American people deserve to keep winning,

04:42and to deny them that opportunity is a flagrant disservice.

04:48This legislation is the embodiment of the America First agenda,

04:54and we would all do well to remember that.

04:58Failure at this critical juncture is not an option.
