00:00While a number of other unions would have already accepted the 4% and 5% nursing association and all of the workers within the health sector still remain on 2013 salaries.
00:14And this is why we said, while some other unions be able to wait and give this government some sort of grace period, honeymoon period, we at the nursing association really have no such luxury.

00:42The most senior nurse in the hospital, the nurse administrator, working for less than the most junior doctor in that hospital.
00:52Firstly on the job, the most junior doctor will work more than the nurse administrator.
00:56So our salaries are totally out of whack.
00:59So now that we have the opportunity to be able to negotiate for ourselves, we definitely need to close that gap.
01:07And that is what we're looking at.
01:08So it will be considerably more than 10% by any stretch of the imagination.

01:19Something for which he says there is no need.
01:22Something that was previously tried and failed.
01:25He also notes that the services offered by health centres are very limited and questions the government's plans.
01:33So you are sending the signals that we have money.
01:36So when it's time for negotiations, I have the doubt that the government will fathom to come and say that there's no money in the country.
01:47So we are confident that the Prime Minister will be true to our word and deliver on that major, major promise.
01:54If there's nothing else that they can deliver on, they must deliver on that major promise.
