00:00Mr. Scott of Florida, aye.
00:02This is called a Voterama for a reason,
00:03so we're about ready to walk in the Thunderdome.
00:05I don't know how many there are going to be.
00:06Mrs. Gillibrand, aye.
00:08Ms. Arono.
00:09Today, Senate Republicans have to decide.
00:14Choose the American people or bow down to Donald Trump
00:18and his coterie of billionaires.
00:21Because this bill, as we have said for months,
00:24steals people's health care, jacks up their electricity bill,
00:28takes away their jobs, all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.
00:34There are a lot of government programs
00:36that haven't been looked at in a long time.
00:40We all acknowledge that 75% now of federal spending
00:43is what we call mandatory spending, entitlement programs,
00:47things that Congress doesn't annually appropriate for.
00:50And it continues to grow at an uncontrollable rate.
00:53In fact, the growth and the rate of Medicaid spending
00:56in the last five years have been 50%.
00:58That's not sustainable.
01:00We know that's not sustainable.
01:01And it's also incredibly important
01:03that we pass this One Big Beautiful Bill,
01:05which is the largest tax cuts in American history.
01:09And that's why the White House and the President himself
01:12have been in touch with lawmakers all weekend long
01:15to get this bill passed.
01:17And they are working very hard to do so.
01:19It remains a top priority for the President.
01:21And as we all know, the One Big Beautiful Bill
01:23makes the Trump tax cuts permanent.
01:26The White House and the President are adamant
01:28that this bill is passed
01:30and that this bill makes its way to his desk.
01:32Republicans need to stay tough
01:34and unified during the home stretch.
01:36And we are counting on them to get the job done.
01:39What is the President's confidence level
01:41in getting 218 votes in the House
01:44by the end of this week in order for him to sign it up front?
01:47Look, we are very well aware, the President is very well aware,
01:50that this bill needs to not only pass out of the Senate,
01:52but it needs to go back to the House.
01:54And we need the full weight of the Republican Conference
01:56to get behind this bill.
01:57And we expect them to, and we are confident that they will.
02:00This bill protects Medicaid, as I laid out for you,
02:03for those who truly deserve this program,
02:05the needy pregnant women, children,
02:08sick Americans who physically cannot work.
02:11And what it does is it ensures that able-bodied Americans
02:15who can work 20 hours a week are actually doing so,
02:18and that will, therefore, strengthen and protect
02:21those benefits for Americans who need it,
02:23as well as cutting out the waste, fraud, and abuse,
02:25as well as getting 1.4 million illegal aliens
02:28off of the program.
02:28So all of those measures are actually going to protect it
02:31for those who need it.
02:33That's the President's position, and that's what this bill does,
02:35and that's why Republicans need to vote for it
02:37and get it to the President's desk.
