06:42getting punished and people who are criminals are getting appointed into the educational institutions.

06:48And I am sure it is with every professional college.

06:51There has to be a complete revamp and there has to be a portal where women can directly report

06:56their case and there has to be a committee.

06:59In addition to this I was very surprised that I got to know that NCW team visited and NCW team

07:05was not given access which is very surprising.

07:10In our case I am glad that we had Mananji with us.

07:14Bar Council of India approval is needed for every law college to function and because of

07:20his presence at least the vice principal had to come and speak to us.

07:24We are not disclosing the conversation what we had but we also have couple of questions

07:30and one question is that the documents which have been made public and which are in public domain

07:35they are trying to hide the identity of the criminals.

07:44The law is that you have to protect the identity of victim but hiding the identity of criminals

07:52is something I have not heard of.

07:55So writing M, J, K and those kind of abbreviations make absolutely no sense because the identity of

08:04criminal is established because of camera, video and everything and the person has been

08:10if taken into custody there can be no shield which should protect the criminal, number one.

08:16Number two, fact finding has stated all the facts which I have already stated.

08:21Criminalization of politics and political assignments.

08:25Criminals are given assignments in the colleges and educational institution as a protective measure of the politics.

08:33That is what state has reduced itself to.

08:36And under these circumstances no woman feels safe.

08:40If a panchayat member, her clothes can be pulled on a street and there is no recourse to that kind of atmosphere.

08:49I very much understand the plight of all the girls and all the victims and I always say in Punjabi there is a saying

08:57that the girls are the same.

09:00Meaning, daughters belong to everyone. They are our daughters.

09:05Daughters are not of just one family. Daughters belong to each one of us.

09:10It's not a question of state of West Bengal. It is a question of all of us.

09:15What is our responsibility? Are we complying with our responsibilities as citizens of this country?
