00:00A boatman involved in the tragic accident that claimed three lives near Pulau Perhentian

00:06on Saturday night has been remanded for three days until Wednesday.

00:11The remand order was issued on Monday by Magistrate Nurliana Madzukri at the Setu Magistrate's

00:17Court under Section 15, Subsection 1A of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.

00:25Police confirmed that the 22-year-old boatman tested positive for drugs

00:29following the incident.

00:31The fatal accident occurred at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday when a boat carrying 15 passengers

00:37aged between 3 and 40 was en route from Pulau Perhentian Kechil to Pulau Perhentian Besar.

00:44Three people were killed, 40-year-old S. Arumugam, his 3-year-old daughter A. Sarvika,

00:50and a 10-year-old female relative V. Venpani.

00:54Two others were injured, including one in critical condition, while 10 passengers survived.
